I couldn't sleep after my conversation with the spirit of the wolf. The sun is up now and even though I didn't get much sleep I feel strangely energized. I sit up, and swing my legs out of the bed while scratching my chest.

"A name huh?" I say to myself in that unfamiliar voice. The voice of my soul. I walk over to the window and gaze at the sunrise. I see the trees blowing in the wind. It's something I do every morning but this morning is different. I can hear...what sounds like whispers.

I open the window to hear them better.

"Oh! Can you hear our voices now hybrid?"
A high pitched voice says.

"Yes...who-" I pause, "No, what are you?"

"I am a sylph!", the voice giggles. "Can you see us?"

"I want to." As soon as I say it I feel my eyes glow and I start to see floating silver orbs being carried by the wind. "I guess I can see you now." I say to the sylph.

"Amazing! We've been trying to talk to you for so long! You are quite literally a rare breed! Do you know what you are?!" The sylph asks excitedly.

"I carry the spirit of Odin," I respond half-heartedly.

"Yes! But don't you know what that means?!?!"

"It means I have dominion. Or at least that's what I was told. Rule the wolf and rule the magic. I guess I should be more excited but I'm a little confused about it all. I had so much more certainty yesterday with Jess. But I realize now that everything is going to change. I mean right now I'm talking to a wind spirit."

"Yes, but we love you! All spirits love you! We've all been waiting for you to embrace who you are and take your place!"

"My place??" I respond confused as another ball of silver light rushes toward us.

"Beatrix! There's trouble! An alpha class vampire is approaching fast!" This one's voice is a little deeper and I'm assuming the sylph I've been talking to is Beatrix.

"An alpha?! Oh dear!" Beatrix responds. "This would have been a day for celebration if not for that Maxus! The hybrid can hear and see us now!"

"Oh that's good! I am the zephyr Maxus." Maxus moves closer. "Hybrid I don't think you're strong enough for this fight but you are needed!"

"I beat an alpha vampire yesterday so I'm not too worried how much longer till he gets here?"

Maxus scoffs. " The vampire from yesterday may have been from an alpha line but he was far from the power of an Alpha. He is an ant compared to this one. Now that I think of it, it may be his father."

"Wait what?! I start to panic. "What are you saying?!"

"Yesterday's foe could still be considered a fledgling compared to this one. A vampire's strength isn't just tied to their blood and the amount of blood consumed. It's also tied to their age. This one is at least 500 years old by the aura."

"The aura??" I respond quizzically.

"Yes, now that you can see us, you'll probably be able to see them soon." Beatrix responds.

"There is an aura to all things as all things contain magic. The size, intensity, and color can give you insight into how powerful the life-force is of whatever is emitting it.

Unfortunately at a certain point physical beings and high class spirits become able to manipulate all of those factors so it's really only accurate on lesser spirits and weaker existences."

"So based on what was seen either way this vampire is on another level..." I trail off.

Realistically it probably is Cameron's father given what happened yesterday. I wonder if I can make it out alive.

"HE'S HERE!" Maxus screams, as I crash through the wall on the opposite side of bedroom AND the wall across the hall, right into Jess's room. Fortunately, this wall holds. I don't see Jess in here and I'm thankful. I didn't know someone COULD hit that hard.

I hear a groan behind me.

OH NO! I get up quickly as my body heals from the impact. Sure enough, Jess broke my trajectory.

"What just happened?!" Jess says surprised worried, and angry.

"I think Cameron's dad wants revenge for yesterday, so round 2 I guess."

"Oh?" Jess smiles mischievously.

"Umm, I don't think you need to get involv-"
Before I can finish the sentence she gone through both holes in the wall faster than a blink. Part of me is relieved that I don't have to fight alone after that hit, but I'm also worried.
