The cold of winter was something that always arrived. Every year in the late months it became dark earlier and the days. For some more pleased for some less. Just Wednesday and especially the vampires seemed to be happy to be longer in the darkness. 

But what pleased everyone else was the snow. Wednesday could go with Enid into the forest and look for frostbitten animals with the super nose of the werewolf. 

And even if the black-haired one didn't want to admit it, she liked the trips...and cuddling with Enid under warm blankets. Xavier was looking forward to new landscapes and inspiration for his paintings and was busy painting. Eugene seemed a bit bored by the fact that his bees were hibernating. 

He did, however, play in the snow and sled, which was a good balance. Bianca could not swim in the river, but she and the sirens seemed to prefer a warm bath with soap puddles. Only Ajax seemed calm, tired and almost exhausted at the dull time of year. The Gorgon and his snakes were reptiles. 

And since reptiles are warm-blooded animals and adapt to their outside temperature, his body temperature also dropped. Not too much, but so much that he always seemed sluggish and tired. Also his snakes seemed to hide only under his cap so cold was the small. 

But winter there and snow here it was still instruction however it was exactly the Botanik instruction it to the doom became. Y/n as well as Wednesday, Xavier, Bianca and Ajax were in the winter garden and listened carefully as a quiet but audible snoring went through the room. Surprised, everyone quieted down and looked around until they found the culprit. 

Ajax had fallen asleep behind his high book and his snakes seemed to be sleeping peacefully. ,,Mister Petropolus!" came loudly from their teacher, but the younger one did not wake up. Giggling went through the rows of students, but the friends all glanced at each other. This has to stop thought Y/n who thought of the last three times which was clearly too often for her liking. ,,Wake up Ajax" said Bianca and used her siren song after the teacher had allowed her to. Only seconds later he was awake and looked around in confusion. ,,I'm awake, I wasn't asleep," he said, but the students laughed even more. 

His gaze went to his friends who shook their heads. And so it remained the hour Ajax awake visibly tired and tried to follow the lessons. Only when the class ended and they all went out did they confront him. ,,You can't say you have it under control," Xavier said to his friend and the others nodded. 

A yawn crossed the boy's lips as he adjusted his beanie. ,,I know, but there is nothing I can do. I take the temperature and if I dress any thicker I look like a snow globe" he countered and sighing sounds and augendrehn came from his friends. ,,We will think of something," said Y/n and put a hand on the shoulder of her friend. My little snake always so strong she thought with a smile as they walked hand in hand towards the next lesson. ,,Will you wake me up when I'm about to fall asleep?" he asked and a smile played around his lips. ,,Of course Medusa" she replied giggling and she gave his head a little kiss. 

The short hiss of the snakes was audible. ,,Yes, yes, you'll get your kisses too," she waved and the two went to class. A few days passed in which it was better and worse for the boy. Only when he fell asleep at lunch and landed on the mashed potatoes did Y/n know that it was time for their gift slash the solution to the problem. 

And since it was urgent, she knew that it had to go quickly. So it came that she met with Ajax in the evening and the Gorgon was visibly confused about the meeting. ,,Didn't you say it was urgent?" and looked around the room of his friend who said that rats had spread in her room. ,,Yes, it is, well, for you. Anyway, I have the solution to the problem," she said hastily, grabbing a small box with a bow. ,,A gift?" asked the Gorgon, seemingly unsure. He opened it and the grin on his lips turned into a delighted laugh. 

In his hands were small green caps and small hats, as well as a large cap and a normal sized scarf. ,,Did you knit them all yourself?" he asked, pulling his friend into a hug. ,,Well, I had a little help from Enid, but that's all right. I thought if you and your snakes were at least warm enough it might be a little better," she said, turning around so he could take off his hat. She heard a clicking sound and guessed he had taken a picture. 

She heard his footsteps on the old wood as he stood in front of her and she flinched in horror as his hands came to rest on hers. ,,Look," he said, and she opened her eyes before squealing. ,,How cute!" she said and stroked his scarf and cap before he took out his cell phone and showed her the photo. ,,Oh, you guys look cute," she said, stroking the cap on his head. The snakes moved slightly and seemed to be happy as well. ,,They are pleased" he said and seemed to be more lively than a few minutes ago. 

She heard him coming closer before his lips met hers as he stroked her cheek. ,,Thank you my pretty," he mumbled and pulled her into another kiss before they lay cuddling on the bed. And together they finished the evening knitting to make Ajax as winter ready as possible. While he was granted by the wool and their common love.
