"I hate mornings. Hate, hate, hate." I grumbled to myself.

I wandered downstairs and met Sammi at the bottom; she must have been woken up by the doorbell too. Those boys could sleep through a train crashing through the house at a million miles an hour.

We shrugged and she opened the door to reveal and a teenage boy struggling to hold seven or eight canvases and a letter. "Jonathon!" I cried in surprise. Sammi and I took the canvases off him. "Skylar?" He blinked. "I wondered why I was delivering these! I haven't seen you for ages! So you finally got out, eh?" He smiled at me and ruffled my already-knotted hair. Jonathon had been like an older brother to me before the orphanage split into two halves; a boys half and a girls half.

I hugged him."You'd never guess." Jinxx thudded down the stairs. He looked between Jonathon and I. "Wha's goin' on?" He murmured sleepily. Jonathon looked between us in confusion.

"No... way. No freaking way!" He sputtered. I grinned and Jinxx walked towards us.

"Care to introduce us?" He asked. "Jinxx, Jonathon. Jon, this is my, well, dad, I s'pose." Jon shook his hand numbly."...Whoa."

"Indeed." I hugged him again. "I thought you were out of there once you turned eighteen?" I questioned and stepped back. Sammi disappeared. "Yea, but I'm a part time arts teacher, and I volunteer down there when I can. Speaking of which, that letter is from Alice. Also, the two prints I made for you are with the canvases, and the rest are the only paintings I could salvage. That bloody woman ruined the rest." He said sadly. "Thanks, Jon." I gave him a grateful smile.

"Well, I'd better beon my way. I'll see you around, Okay?" He waved and began to walk away. "See you, Jon."

"Oh, Skylar! Have you started playing again yet?"

I bit my lip and looked away. "Skylar, I know it hurts, but you'll have to let it go one day. I'll talk to you another time." Jon murmured softly then got into his car and drove away.

Jinxx shot me a questioning look and I flipped over the letter, walking towards the kitchen to find a knife. "Hey Sam-Sam," said, looking at her as I put my head on her shoulder," Where do you keep your knives?" I drew out the 'i'.

"Over there; open your eyes, stupid." She chuckled, pointing to a drawer under the kitchen table. I poked her cheek and grabbed one, slitting the cream-colored envelope open.

Dear Skylar, it read.

It's Alice! I can't believe I have a home now. It's awesome! It turns out I have an older brother and a younger sister, as well as a bazillion cousins as well! The house is huge- we even have butlers! One looks like Sebby-kun. He's my butler, and i told him that, and you know what he said?? he said ' I'm simply one hell of a butler!"!!

I hope you like your new home too! We will have two visit each other soon, Jonathan came over the other day and was talking to me as well.

My mum put our adress on the back, so please reply to me soon.

Love, Alice Sanders!'

I bit my lip and smiled, tucking the letter in my back pocket. "What's wrong? You ok?" Sammi asked, dumping her bowl in the sink. "Yea, everything's fine. Alice just loves her new home is all." I smiled

"Hey, is there a skate park anywhere around here?" I asked as Jake walked in and began to raid the fridge. "Just around the corner. You skateboard?"

"Yea. I wann check it out. Reckon anyone would mind?" I questioned, referring to Sammi and Jinxx. "Nah. You'll be right." Said man ruffled my hair as he walked past and I grinned at him.
