Lou’s POV

“Loui! I’m back from school!” Lexi calls. I pause Just Dance, turn off the TV and hop in bed, sticking the thermometer in the tea before in my mouth. “Hey buddy,” Lexi smiles as she walks into my room “Are you feeling better?” She takes the thermometer from my mouth and I fake cough. Those years of acting are paying off.

“I’m sick,” I whisper. She shakes her head and sits down on the bed, stroking my hair back from my forehead. “I think I need to stay home for another day.” I cough. I really wasn’t that sick. My throat was just a tad bit dry.

“Well if you need to stay home, you can clean the loo,” she giggles. I make a disgusting face I use when Niall tries to cook.

“I’ll go to school,” I grumble. I try to get back up but Lexi’s hand catches me and softly lays me back down. She gets in the bed with me and plays with my hair. Best… Day…Ever!

“Why don’t you want to go to school Boo Bear?” she asks. I sigh.

“There’s too much homework and not enough kissys,” I say sweetly, pulling her on top of me, making her giggle.

“Well do you want to change that?” She giggles. I lean in and watch the sparks fly. She pulls away after a while. I lean in again but she backs away.

“I hungry,” she says sweetly. I giggle and scoop her up, giving her a piggyback ride.

“Let’s go get you some food babe,” I say. I set her down on the kitchen counter and get a carrot. She gets an ice cream cone. She leads me to the couch and start watching What Not To Wear.

“I should get Harry one of those cat sweaters,” I say.

“If Harry is your friend, you will NOT get him that sweater! It’s so ugly!” she says and I laugh. I sneeze. “Aww! You sneeze like a kitten!” Lexi pokes my cheek. I pout but sneeze again. “Are you ok Loui?” she asks.

“Peachy,” I manage before I cough. She feels my forehead.

“Loui you’re burning up,” she says. My throat is suddenly dry.

“Very funny,” I cough. “You can stop now.”

“No I’m serious,” she says. “I’m a terrible liar.” I remember when she lied. She said she didn’t take the last cookie. She couldn’t stop laughing and she was turning bright red. She hands me the thermometer and tells me to see for myself. I slide the thermometer under my tongue and wait, tapping my foot. Lexi starts to giggle uncontrollably at my sassyness.

“102.4” I say. She hands me my sweater and tells me to get in the car.

*@ Doctor’s office*

“I hate the doctor,” I say. Harry is hugging me, Niall and Sam are eating hospital pudding, Lexi is sitting on my lap, and Liam is outside, on the phone, telling Simon.

“It will be fine,” Harry says.

“Yeah!” Lexi says “I used to have a goldfish named Goldie who was terrified of the doctor.”

“Did Goldie get over it?” I ask.

“No,” she sighs “We had to flush her.” I widen my eyes, getting even more scared. “Why am I telling these stories?” she sighs. The doctor walks in.

“Well Mr. Tomlinson,” He starts but Niall walks in with doctor mask and gloves on.

“Well doctor, the patient is prepped for surgery,” he said, tightening the gloves.

“Please take a seat Mr. Horan,” the doctor says sternly. “Anyways, the tests came back positive for strep throat.” Niall walks up behind him.
