TW — SA

A seven-year-old Luna was back in the position she was in regularly; beaten, bruised, and aching. It was normal for her.

But what was — at the time — irregular, was that one of Marcus' friends were over.

She knew as soon as she saw him what was going to happen — how could she not? He was the one who had done it to her so many times before.

And then, since Marcus couldn't afford his heroin, he had just handed her over. Just like that.

She was used to it, of course, but that wasn't to say that the sting didn't still resonate inside of her.

And now, just like the majority of the other times, she lay there motionlessly, just waiting for it to be over with the same few tears sliding down her face.

That was, until, the door opened.

She didn't even bother looking at whoever opened the door. She didn't want to. The seven-year-old girl believed that it was just somebody else coming to make her life hell.

Until the man was thrown off of her, and that's when she came back to life, pulling her pants up as quickly as humanly possible.

She looked to where she could hear the commotion, and she saw James on top of the man, laying hit after hit after hit on him.

It was like she was staring at a completely different person — this wasn't her Jay. He had a blood splatter across his face and she was pretty sure that the man was already unconscious by now.

She looked over to the door, and saw Theo stood there, fear plastered across his face as he stared at the two, frozen in his place.

Luna got up as quickly as she could, limping over to Theo, trying to move without showing that she was in pain.

She took his hand and led them away, instead leading them to the front garden, going past their passed-out father on the way.

Theo hadn't known about this. He hadn't known the extent of the pain that she had to face behind that door.

They sat on the creaky porch adjoined to the house where their horrors lay, and Theo tried to be there for Luna, but instead, she silently lay his head on her lap, running her fingers through his hair.

"I got Jay."

Theo spoke quietly, as though if he spoke any louder it would shake the house that stood behind them. She sort of hoped it would.

The young girl sighed, continuing to run her fingers through his hair as she spoke, just as quitetly, "thank you."

She didn't mean it.

She felt disgusting, and ashamed, and Theo had exposed that to James, and probably Jayson, and her Dad.

He didn't know that though.

FLASHBACK OVER

Sneaking back in wasn't a challenge, we knew that they would only be awake at seven, and it was less than a five minute walk back to the mansion.

They really had shit security.

Or we're just amazing.

"Luna, over here." I nudged my head toward the bed.

"What?"
