It was 2018. BTS was back on the road in the middle of their Love Yourself tour. Everyone was loving it. Tour was one of, if not, their favorite part of being performers. Seeing their fans always made their day.

Unfortunately, Jungkook had lost his voice five days prior to the performance due to a throat infection the medics assume he got from traveling so much from place to place.

Jungkook woken up with his throat feeling very scratchy. He didn't think much of it at first because this happened a lot while on tour. This happened when singers used their vocals a lot. Sore throats were inevitable.

He took the water bottle that was nearby and drank from it. His throat still didn't feel better, but he got up anyway and started preparing for the day. Maybe his voice would get better throughout the day.

JK turned on some music as he cleaned himself up and did a little morning skincare. It wasn't until he tried to sing along with the song that he realized something wasn't right. He had gone to sing the chorus but instead of any sound coming out, a cough rang through the room.

Shit, he cursed to himself.

He tried again but to no avail. No matter how hard he tried to talk, Jungkook couldn't get a noise out.

Jungkook finished up getting ready and headed to get breakfast with his hyungs in a hurry. He hoped his hyungs would know what to do. He coughed a few times on the way there.

As he arrived, he waved at everyone. The maknae was the last one up which was no surprise.

"Hey, Jungkook!" Namjoon greeted with a yawn. "Did you sleep well?"

The maknae nodded.

"Yah! I'm so excited for this week's set list! It's gonna be amazing!" Taehyung exclaimed with a grin.

Jungkook went to talk but no noise came out. Instead, a puny little noise came out of his mouth before he broke into a coughing fit.

"Oh, geez, maknae!" Yoongi muttered worriedly as he patted Jungkook's back.

Jin grabbed a water bottle and gave it to him as he began to fuss over the youngest.

"Are you sick, Jungkookie?" he asked with furrowed brows and leading his maknae to sit down.

"I-" Jungkook started before coughing again.

He conceded to a shrug. The younger grabbed his phone and typed into the group chat.

I don't feel sick tho

"Huh. Did you go to bed with a sore throat?" Jimin asked in concern.

All the members had jumped up to help the youngest.

JK shrugged again and typed, It's been kind of sore for three days now. I thought if I drank a lot of water, rested my voice, relaxed, and went to bed early I would fight it off.

"Damn... well the next show isn't for two days. Maybe your voice will get better," Namjoon reasoned.

The members agreed. They decided to have Jin stay with Jungkook in the meantime.
