After the snowball fight, Calvin and Kensie were walking together down the hall behind Baldhart and Kenzie. Kensie had asked Kenzie to distract Baldhart so she could talk to Calvin about something that had been bothering her since Baldhart's arrival.
"So..." she started. "I saw you spending a lot of time with Baldhart lately."
Calvin's face went pale. "No Kensie, it's not what it looks like! I swear!" He said, trying to defend himself.
"Oh really," she said, putting her hand on her hip. "So no reason for me to be jealous?"
"No Kens, you're the only one for me!"
"Is that so?" she asked, glaring down the hall at Baldhart.
"I swear! Baldhart and I are only crushing, okay? She's just my crush!" He said, putting his hands up in surrender.
"So there are no best-friend-feelings involved?" Kensie asked, looking back at him.
"You are still my one and only best friend! She's just the love of my life, nothing more!" Calvin said.
"But I'm still the platonic love of your life, right?" Kensie asked.
"Of course, my guy!" Calvin said, going in for a high five which Kensie returned.
Claire and Leaf were around the corner, doing homework. They heard the whole thing. They both gave each other The Look and returned to their worksheets.
