Claire, Adaline, Skyley, and Tyson were sitting in the hall working on their color project when Adaline saw Peaches and Starbuck coming towards them.
Skyley let out a yelp and ran for the classroom, closing the door behind her. Adaline, Tyson, and Claire dove for their backpacks, pulling their nerf guns out and pointing them at the two fifth graders, only for them to pull out their own. Before the three of them had a chance to react, Peaches shot Claire in the thigh. Claire fell to the ground, letting out an ear piercing shriek. Tyson squatted down, throwing Claire's arm around his shoulders and his arm around her waist, he lifted her off the ground, dragging her towards the door. Adaline fought them off as best as she could, but they were quickly gaining ground.
Tyson dragged Claire into the classroom with Adaline following close behind. Adaline slammed the door, pressing her back against it.
"Medic!" Tyson screamed, dropping Claire on the ground.
"AGH!" Claire's arms and legs flailed around as she fell to the ground, failing to catch herself.
"She needs emergency help!" Jorgelino screamed as he rushed to her side, applying pressure to the wound. Leaf ran to the first aid kit in the corner of the room.
"I can't help her!" He cried, throwing the first aid kit to Jorgelino.
"Why not?" Jorgelino asked.
"She's a girl. She got shot in the thigh. That would be yucky for me." Leaf said. "KENSIE! YOU HAVE TO DO IT!" He pointed to Kensie who was helping barricade the door. Kensie rushed to Claire's side, taking the first aid kit, she quickly applied a band-aid to the wound, over Claire's pants.
"Finished!" She shouted to Jorgelino.
"I know! I'm sitting right here!" He shouted back, right next to her. They dragged Claire to the corner farthest away from the door. Calvin sat by her, drinking some juice.
"Want some?" He asked.
"WE'RE LITERALLY AT WAR AND YOU'RE DRINKING?" Claire shouted to him.
"Take a multivitamin, you melodramatic victorian appropriating eternal poo." Calvin said, taking another swig from his juicebox.
"This is why I don't like talking to people with an IQ lower than the room temperature." Claire mumbled, but Calvin heard her. He gasped, his eyes filling with tears.
"You don't mean that." He whispered. "You don't mean that. I'm smart. I am." Claire instantly regretted what she said as soon as she heard his voice crack.
"You're right. I didn't mean that. I'm sorry. That was rude." She said. Calvin simply wiped his tears.
"It doesn't matter." He said, smiling as he went for another sip of juice.
Tyson, Leaf, and Thale worked together to knock all the tables and chairs that weren't being used for a barricade to their sides. The students huddled together behind the furniture, nerf guns loaded and ammunition collected.
They waited for what felt like days until the fifth graders broke through the barricade. The first graders started firing the second one kid was through the door. It was a long, gruesome battle. Both sides fought with the strength of the English army. They were sure it would never end.
Many fifth graders were lost in the fight. Tobias Tuffin fell, shot in the chest. Zelda Afify fell, shot in the butt. Noah Alf fell, shot in the back and chest. Darth Nickleberg fell, shot in the stomach. Dwight Cripple and Ebenezer Ginhart fell, they accidentally shot each other. Jeor Hall fell, cause of fall is still unknown.
Very few first graders were lost. Steve Sakeleaf fell, shot in the center of the forehead. Mars Brick fell, shot in the stomach. Tommy Llama fell, shot in the side.
The fight was difficult, but the first graders eventually claimed victory.
