Crime of passion (Agent Athreya x reader)

"A missing statue. Hmm" Athreya fell into a deep thought as he looked at the case papers infront of him. "Excuse me" You walked into the detective agency as your eyes fell on Athreya "Yes?" Athreya raised an eyebrow as he looked at you. "Are you hiring?" You showed him a flyer "Ahh yes" Athreya got up from the chair as he walked upto you "You're hired" Now it's your turn to raise an eyebrow at him "So soon" "Yeah any problem don't you want the job" "Well I do want the job but you didn't even ask my qualifications" "It's fine you just need a good quick brain for this job do you have one?" "Oh yes sir I do" "Then yeah you're in" "Great come on I was just looking into a case" You followed him. He sat on his chair and motioned for you to take a seat . You sat beside him as he gave you a paper to look at. "We're going on a search for a statue?" "That's right" "Well where was this statue stolen from?" "From Mr. Rakesh Chowdary's house. He himself walked into my office and asked me to look into it" "Like the billionaire Mr. Rakesh?" Your eyes widened "Yeah" "He even promised to pay me a fair price" "That's wonderful" You smiled at him "Now let's go get those clues"

"Mr.Athreya" Rakesh walked upto him . "Mr.Rakesh we're here to search for your statue" "I hope we keep this confidential Athreya hope you won't call the police on this" "You'll get your hands on the statue I promise you that sir and no I won't go to the police for help" "That's good that's a really important statue I'll pay you handsomely if you get me the statue back" "Can I take a look at the room the statue was in?" "Sure Athreya"

You and Athreya walked into Rakesh's room. "I've some work to do I'll be in my office" Rakesh smiled at you both and left the room. "Why doesn't he wanna go to the police?" You turned to Athreya "I don't know" "Well you're the detective you should ask him about it what if the statue doesn't belong to him? " "So what? I want this case it's pretty big to me" You rolled your eyes as you scanned the room. You were looking through the room as you didn't notice Athreya who was infront of you. You bumped into him and stumbled back. He caught you before you could fall down to the floor. You looked at him with wide eyes. You got up and apologized to him "It's okay" He winked at you. You smiled and brushed the hair off from your face. "Look here" You turned to Athreya who was holding a screw in his hand. "What's that?" "Someone has come through this window" You looked at the screw in his hand and the window which also had one of the screws removed "So that person is the one who stole the statue?" "Must be cause why would Rakesh enter his house through the window" He chuckled . "How do we find this person?" "Traces he would've left some clues for us" "How are you so sure?" "However brilliant a criminal is he leaves a trace and that's how we find him" "I see" You start to scan the room again. You were looking at the floor as you saw a piece of cloth. You put it inside your pocket. "Weird there isn't much we can do here" Athreya walked upto you. "I guess so looks like we can't find his traces here" You looked around the room one more time as you spoke. You and Athreya got into his car after letting Rakesh know that you both were leaving. Athreya promised him that he'll let Rakesh know if he gets any update on his case. "So I'm sorry I didn't even ask your name?" "I'm (Y/n)" "Sai Srinivasa Athreya but yea call me Agent" "Agent?" "Yeah" You chuckled "Whatever you like agent" He smiled as he looked at you "Can we stop for coffee?" Athreya asked you "Sure"

"Two coffee" Athreya said to the waiter as he looked back to you "So (Y/n) how did you get interested in this job?" Athreya asked you "Remember the house you went to days back" "Yeah... the girl who was murdered" "I was there too and I saw you solving the case so brilliantly. You're really the most intelligent man I've ever come across Athreya... sorry I mean Agent" Athreya smiled "It's okay... if you like to call me Athreya you can" "That's so sweet of you thanks Athreya" "No problem" You chuckled "I'm going to wash my hands I'll be back" "Okay" Athreya nodded as you walked away. It was minutes since you left and Athreya got worried about you as he walked upto the hand wash area. He looked at your scared face as a guy was harassing you. By now your face had tears "Hey" The guy looked at Athreya in shock as he walked upto him. Athreya pulled him by the collar and pushed him away from you "How dare you behave like that to a woman? You idiot get lost" The guy ran away so that he won't get beaten up by Athreya. Athreya turned to look at you as you looked up at him. You wrapped your arms around his torso and sobbed softly into his chest "It's okay (Y/n) you're safe with me" He caressed your head gently "Thanks so much" You pulled away and kissed him on the cheek walking back to your table. Athreya grinned as this was the first time he ever received a kiss from a girl. He was also afraid he'll fall in love with you as he turned to look at you walk away.
