Chapter6:Deep memories

In the memory.... 

It was a warm summer day.Envy knocked on the door of the Bennett's house & was answered by Mrs.Bennett.She smiled as Envy asked,"May I see them?" "Why,yes you may,Envy." Envy politely walked over to the two cribs.She looked down & saw two baby boys."That one is Peterson," Mrs.Bennett pointed to the one on the right."And that is Jackson." She pointed to the other crib. As soon as Peterson saw Envy, he wailed loudly. "Oh,I'm not that scary,am I?" Envy joked. Mrs.Bennett picked up Peterson to calm him down. Envy looked at Jackson. Instead of crying,Jackson smiled & giggled. Envy picked him up & held him in her arms."We are going to be best friends,aren't we?" she asked Jackson. He only smiled even bigger as Envy tickled his tummy. 

A new memory showed up with Envy,Jackson,&Peterson at the pond.Peterson & Jackson were 6 years now. Envy was teaching Jack how to ice-skate while Peterson sat on the porch reading a book."Come on,Peter!" Envy called."You can't just sit there all day! Come & join the fun & you might learn how to ice-skate!" Peter said without looking up,"I'd rather educate myself than play foolish games like hop-what." "It's called hop-Scotch genius!" Jackson called out. "Jackson!" Mrs.Bennett scolded,"That was rude!Please apologize to your brother." "Sorry Peter." Jackson mummbled. Envy shurgged then pulled Jack's collar & continued to ice skate. 

Then another popped up with Envy & Jack only.Peter had died from an unknown sickness 10 yeas ago.Jack was now 18,which it was his birthday anyway."How old are you,Envy?" he asked."Oh,about 107 I believe." Jack wasn't surprised too much because she had told him how old she was when he was 14. Ever since, Jack liked Envy & hoped she'd like him back.Which she does & when she told him that, they had been girlfriend & boyfriend, but back then they called the other 'their love'. Anyways...Envy asked him "Oh,I almost forgot! Happy birthday,Jack!" Jack smiled."Thanks,Envy!" It was a clear starry night with a waning gibbous moon(waning means getting smaller;FYI). "So, I'm leaveing tomorrow for our 'trip' to some place else." Jack frowned a little. As Envy got up to leave,Jack got a hold of her arm."Aw,you aren't gonna leave without giving me my gift, aren't you?" He asked. "Fine,Jack." Envy said as she sat down. "What do you want this year?" Jack gave her a look as trying to tell her. Envy knew exactly what he wanted. "Fine, but if my dad finds out, he'll..." Envy was cut off as Jack kissed her on her lips. "Well, now you know how to shut me up."  

 Another one popped up with Envy,Jack,& his little sister were ice-skating on the lake.A Small crack was forming beneath his sister's skates. "Stay still, I'll get you." Envy called. But as she tried to get closer, Jack's sister wobbled & the crack grew."Jack!Do something!" Envy hollered."Jack,I'm scared," His sister whined."I know,I know,but you're gonna be all right. You're not gonna fall in.We're gonna have a little fun instead." Jack replied."Jack,"Envy moaned."No, we're not." his sister called back."Would I trick you?" Jack asked. His sister began to cry a little."Yes!You always play tricks!" Jack giggled as Envy made a face at him."Well,all right.But not this time.I promise your gonna be..." He glanced at the cracks."You're gonna be fine." He stared into his sister's eyess."You have to believe in me." His sister managed to smile a bit.So did Envy."You wanna play a game?We're going to play hop-scotch!Like we do every day." "It's  easy as on..." he jumped,but landed unsteadily.Jack smiled as if he did on purpose."  Jack!" called out to him with worry."Two" Almost there,"Three!" he safely landed on shore."Now it's your turn" Jack noticed the stick on the ground & picked it up. He held it toward his sister."One." He called out.She jumped carefully."That's it,that's it," Jack responded.He held it out more,"Two." She got closer."Three." As she grabbed a hold of the staff, Envy saw someone getting closer with blood red hair. Pain! Envy noticed. When Jack flung his sister to shore, "Envy called out,"Jack!Watch out!"But it was too late.Pain shoved Jack back on to the pond & Jack crashed through the ice."Jack!" both his sister & Envy yelled. As Envy tried to dive in, something grabbed her by the collar.It was Pitch. "Envy,what are you doing?!" Tears raced down her face."Ja..Jack fell in the ice!" Pitch was in shock."But,Envy,you...you can't swim." Envy looked down into the hole. She fell to her knees with her face flooded in tears."Oh...Jack." She weeped."You'll always be my guardian." 

Not in memory... 

Jack's jaw was dropped open as the black screen went away."Envy,did you..." he begun but noticed that Envy had fallen to sleep. Smiling,he got up & picked her up back inside to place her on the window ledge. He walked back over to the bench with little tears in his eyes. He knew exactly who he was;he was Envy's boyfriend. He laid down thinking about it. He felt sorry for how Envy must have felt seeing him fall through the ice.But he also know he didn't fall through the ice him self,Pain had shoved him in. He slowly closed his eyes smiling that he knew more about him self.Now, it was his turn to shove Pain onto the ice.
