Chapter14:Tragedy drags into love

Jack flew down to Antarctica to find Pain's castle to receive Ivy's necklace. While he was flying down there,he had a lot of thoughts going on in his mind. What if Pain has destroyed it? What if I don't find it? What if I won't get it in time & Ivy dies? That thought was his worst thought & his greatest fear;finding Ivy dead. Thinking of this,he started to speed up so that he could save Ivy's life. 

Jack finally reached Pain's castle & marched on in. "Pain," he called out. Jack looked side to side,making sure he didn't get tackled like the first time he met him. He looked around some more before he noticed the blood on the floor;Ivy's blood. 

 He jumped at the sound of Pain's angry tone. "What do you want now,frostbite?" Jack turned to his brother,who looked awfully upset. "I'm here for Ivy's necklace," Jack replied,with his staff held up to fight. "Well,too bad cause I don't have it,", Pain boomed. "I gave it to Pitch." 

Jack almost couldn't believe his ears. "What? You gave it to Pitch," he questioned. "Yes, I did. I don't have any use for it anymore,so I gave it away." Jack shot frost at Pain & sent him flying across the castle. Pain became mad & formed a fire ball in his hand. "Rrrahh," he yelled. Jack dodged his throw & shot more frost at him until Pain shouted,"Alright! I've had it! You don't understand how horrible it feels to be hated, unloved, alone, weak,to lose someone you love! So I'll tell you where Pitch is anyway!"

Jack tackled Pain to the ground;holding Pain down by the neck,he stated, "Where is Pitch at?" Pain looked at Jack. "Outside where you & him fought at & made that sculpture of ice & nightmare sand." Jack remembered the place Pain was talking about & let him go. Pain grasped for some air as he looked at Jack. Jack almost gasped at what Pain looked like;bruised,cut & beaten. 

Did I do that to him? Jack thought. "Did I, do this to you," he asked his brother. "No," Pain replied,"Pitch did." Jack dropped his jaw at what Pitch had done to his brother. I can't let Pitch do this to him,Jack thought,Even if he hurt Ivy.He's my brother. Memories rushed into Jack's head with the times he had with Pain,who was Peterson along time ago. Jack said thank you & left to find Pitch & get Ivy's necklace. 

Back at the north pole,Ivy was standing in front of the window,looking tired. "Are you all right,Ivy," Tooth asked. "I don't really...know," Ivy huffed before collapsing on to the ground. 'Ivy," Tooth shrieked. 'What is it," North panicked. "Ivy collapsed," Tooth exclaimed. "Oh,no," North said as he rushed over to Ivy to see her passed out on the floor. "Bunny," North called. "Yes,mate," Bunny answered. "Go tell Jack that he needs to come back;Ivys collapsed!" Bunny nodded before disappearing into a rabbit hole. "Don't worry,Ivy,you are going to be all right," North encouraged. 

Jack landed next to the sculpture that he & Pitch had made when they fought there. "Good memories,hum,", a voice echoed from behind Jack. He turned around to see Pitch standing,swinging Ivy's necklace around. "Give me Ivy's necklace,",Jack demanded. "What do you need it for," ,Pitch snapped. "For Ivy's life,",Jack responded. "Oh,that's right,her life. She dies without it,",Pitch snickered. Jack shot frost at Pitch. Pitch blocked Jack's frost with nightmare sand,but was still pushed backwards. Jack jumped up & tried to strike Pitch with his staff,but Pitch grabbed his staff & flung him to the ground. Jack tried to reach for his staff back,but Pitch held Jack down with his scythe.

"I know a secret that your trying to keep from me,Jack,",Pitch harassed. "Oh,really,",Jack said. "You love my daughter & wouldn't let anything bad happen to her,",Pitch mocked. "I thought she wasn't your daughter anymore,",Jack pointed out. "That's what she said,but she didn't really mean it. When Pain was torturing her, her fears came to me & one was that she regretted telling me those things." 

"And now your greatest fear has come to me,your scared of finding Ivy dead." Jack jumped at Pitch's words. "You think you can save her but it's too late,Jack. She's almost already dead. The glow of this Cristal tells if she's alive or not. If it is glowing,then she's alive. If it's all black & dark,then,she's dead." 

Just then,Pitch was knocked over & had dropped the necklace. "Bunny," jack said. "Come on, we have to get back to the pole. Ivys collapsed," Bunny stated. Jack became scared & flew to the north pole.

When they got there,Jack saw Tooth hovering back & forth outside of the door,crying. "Tooth," he called. "Oh,Jack," Tooth sobbed as she flew over to him & gave him a hug. "I am so sorry." Jack froze in horror. "Wait is she," he began as he looked at Ivy's necklace. It was black & dark. "No!" Jack darted into the room Ivy was at. The other Guardians were standing there,upset. Jack ran over to Ivy & picked her up & shook her. "Ivy!Ivy!Please!Say something!"

But Pitch was right,Jack was too late;Ivy was dead.
