Kireyi

Gathering the group for sign language lessons was quite easy, they had been interested about it for the past few days. Aonung and Rotxo took Kiri and Tuk, leaving Tsireya and Kireyi with the two brothers. Already knowing where her sister, Tsireya, would head, Kireyi took the other boy with her. She had brought him to one of the rocks out in the sea, as it was quiet and easy to focus. The water surrounded them on the rock, little droplets nipping their skin from the waves. Warm from the sun, the rock hadn't been the worst to sit on, and when the water did spray them it helped with the humid weather.

Kireyi took the time to sign as she spoke, exposing him to the language that way would be the easiest for him to learn, "So.... like this, right?"

Neteyam swooped his hand down, and she took his hand, "Fix your fingers, or it will mean something different."

He tried again, this time smoother, "Was that better?"

Kireyi kept her eyes on his movements, although she could feel his stare she didn't want to look up; afraid she'll fluster, "Yes."

"Could you teach me some descriptions?"

"I suppose...." She thought for a moment, "This is fun, and if you add this motion it becomes you are fun." She continued teaching him different descriptions.

"So if it had this in front it's this, and then this is you?"

Her eyes had softly lit up by now, Neteyam had been such a quick learner that it made it fun to teach him, "Exactly!"

The boy leaned in, "What about beautiful?" His voice was a whisper, and Kireyi froze. It came out of his mouth so softly; the girl looked up at him, making eye contact. They sat there for a moment, inches away from each other. Clearing her throat, she showed Neteyam how to sign "beautiful"; her hands covered her eyes softly, sweeping them out and away from her face. Their eyes connected again, and she looked down out of embarrassment. The boy hadn't called her beautiful, so why was she so flustered? That's what embarrassed her the most; maybe it was how he looked at her as he asked or how it sounded so sweetly in his voice.

"Alright," Neteyam must've detected her reaction, and she silently scolded herself for being so obvious, "Hm.... what about boring?"

Her eyes met her hands, a slight blush meeting her face as she showed him. Everything got quiet between the two, though.... her friend had seemed to turn on her after so many years. The water rose high in a wave, hitting both of the teens and sending them into the water. Kireyi was quick, calmly coming back to the surface brushing her hair out of her face, Neteyam resurfaced close by. He looked to her in shock, and they stared at each other without speaking a word for a few beats. Kireyi's lips slowly curled into a smile and they burst out laughing together. She swam towards the boy still giggling, "Come, let's head to shore," Taking his hand she dived into the water, this time peacefully, unlike when it had swept him away.

He naturally went along with Kireyi, so caught up on her it felt like only seconds before they reached the sand. Tsireya and Lo'ak were there, and the younger girl ran up to her sister, "Are you done teaching him?"

"Yes, why Reya?"

Before answering Tsireya took her sister's hand, "I want to swim with you! I showed Lo'ak some things he could do with Neteyam!"

Kireyi would've told her sister to include the boys.... but if she did show them what they could do, it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

"You both should go and explore a little then, please don't go far from these two beaches," Kireyi added to Tsireya, and they started making their way to look around the area. Kireyi and Tsireya rushed to take their Ilu out on a ride; with all the teachings lately, they hadn't been able to bond for a while. Kireyi had been secretly excited to go on a long awaited ride. The other's teachings ended and Tuk returned to her parents; Kiri decided to stay on the shoreline. Everyone reveled at getting to simply enjoyed their small break of the day, in the warm sun. Kiri laid in the shallow bit of the water, watching the holes in the sand for any sea life that may come up. Her moment was ruined with sand kicked through the water; as she raised her head, she heard mumbling from Aonung and his friends.
