Alex's POV

"Jack, I need some help." I gasped as we walked further through the field.

"Babe, I'm carrying literally everything: the cooler, the telescope, my books and book bag, and your book bag." Jack laughed as he strode on with no trouble.

I wheezed and pulled the tent behind me. Jack, carefully crossing the small lake running through the field, set our things down on the other side. I handed him the tent, and looked at the cold, fast running, dark green water.

Jack grabbed my hand and pulled me over the lake. I didn't get a drop of water on me, and I was on the other side.

"Thanks," I smiled as he picked up the things, and carefully scooped up the telescope's bag.

He nodded and walked with felicity towards our area in the field. About five or so minutes later, I was with Jack at our spot, dragging the heavy blue tent.

"Jesus, God, this thing his heavy." I wheezed as I set the stakes in the ground to set up the tent.

Jack rolled his eyes and pecked the corner of my mouth. I grinned, and stretched the tent out over the stakes. Jack began to set up the telescope on a flat rock so we can see the planets and stars later, and I put the metal rods in the tent to hold it up.

After I put the cooler in the tent and laid out our blankets and pillows for sleeping arrangements, I sprayed myself down in bug spray. Tossing the can to Jack, he sprayed some on himself, and went back to organizing the Barlow lens, and the rest of the lenses in order. He began to write the date, moon phase, and time in his notebook that he graphed the stars in while I got wood for the fire later.

I took Jack's book about stars, and went to May.

"Hey, we're seeing Gemini tonight." I said, even though he knew.

Jack came over and wrapped his arms around my waste, and hugged me into him tightly.

"Thanks for letting me nerd-out about space to you," Jack smiled, with a kiss on my temple.

"And thank you for dealing with my weakness."

Jack laughed and went back to the telescope.

"What did you bring for dinner?" He asked as he made color coordinate pictures in the notebook.

"A couple turkey sandwiches with mayo, American cheese, and black olives with some chips and two AriZona iced teas." I said, as I went into the tent to retrieve our dinner from the cooler.

Jack padded in behind me, and took his dinner from my hands. Kissing me again, Jack sat close to me and went into his sandwich. I did the same, and looked out the tent flap at the setting sun.

"I wanna go to space," Jack whined as he popped a chip in his mouth.

"Me too. I want to see a real sunset."

Jack snorted.

"I want to see Saturn, a.k.a number two bae."

I poked his nose and opened my chip bag. Jack left the tent, probably to map out the night sky, and I followed with my bag of chips.

I sat on the cold grass by Jack's telescope and looked at the blinking stars, the planets, and a few planes that zipped past.

Jack began to focus the telescope on a certain planet.

"Venus!" He exclaimed, as he marked that down in his notebook. "Come look."

I got up and walked over to him, peeking through the telescope. I saw Venus through the Barlow lens, and saw some of its color. The lens was so strong, you can see Saturn's rings faintly, Jupiter's red spot, and even a few craters on the moon.

"That's so cool." I said, as Jack moved around the telescope.

"Look again; there's Gemini." Jack said, as he gently rubbed my back and made heart and star patterns with his finger.

"Now that, my love, is awesome. Take a look," I said as I stepped back and let the master see it himself.

He mapped out Gemini by Venus, and looked through again.

"Can you hand me the H12.3mm lens?" He asked.

I did as asked, and let my hand linger on his a bit longer than expected. Jack, obviously catching my hint, smiled and look my hand.

He looked through the telescope again, and focused it on Jupiter a little more. Tossing me a pen, he said, "Hey, draw Jupiter and then the red spot in a separate box as well."

I panicked a bit; Jack never lets anyone draw his drawings. I was an awful drawer, so why would he want me to draw his observation.

Gulping, I checked through the telescope, and began to draw a circle. Then, I made the different colors of Jupiter, making a small circle where I must put the red spot.

Jack was too busy observing Jupiter to notice my struggle and constant gulping.

When I was done, I reluctantly gave Jack his notebook back and looked back up at Gemini.

"Oh, rad! This is great. I have to have you draw more often."

That eased my tension and I glanced at him from the corner of my eye.

"I'll start the fire."

I got up and began to put the wood I collected in a pile near our tent. Jack tossed me his lighter, and I lit the pile of branches and dead leaves.

While it was beginning to light, I got the marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars from the cooler.

Finishing observations, Jack met me by the fire and out his sweater around my shoulders. I blushed and poked and prodded the fire. Jack started on his s'more while I got another branch for mine.

Heating them up and eating, we both sat by the fire a while longer before deciding to call it a night.

Cuddling in the tent, I could only think about how much I love my little astronaut.
