As the plane landed at the airport an hour from Hawkins Michelle rubbed her eyes, it was 11am in Indiana, America which is 5 hours behind what it would be in England. When she found out where she would be going Michelle had been to the library and researched about America, she wanted to find out about where she would be moving to.

"I would like to be asleep right about now" Michelle thought to herself as a yawn escaped her lips. Standing up from her seat she grabbed her bag and shoved her book into her bag, she had packed 10 books which she hadn't read yet and the one that she has started reading during the flight. She has started A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle which her older sister suggested she read, her sister actually had the three books and Michelle bad wanted to read them so she packed them as well as her other books that she wanted. Michelle followed the crowd of people off the plane and into the airport, she had no idea where she had to go so she looked around for a sign. Following a sign to the escalators which she stepped on and headed down. As she was on the escalator she looked out to the crowd of people, she spotted her aunt stood with two boys who she assumed were her cousins. The only way Michelle knew it was her aunt was from pictures her mum had but also she saw her name on a piece of paper 'Michelle Esther Campbell' As Michelle stepped off the escalator she felt a knot in her stomach as she made her way through the crowd of people towards her aunt and cousins, she felt sick wit nerves but also pain.

"This is it!" Michelle thought to herself as she got closer and closer. She had no idea what to say, it was like her mind had gone blank and she felt like she had forgotten how to speak.

"Hi, I'm... im Michelle" Michelle said once she stopped in front of Joyce, Jonathan and Will. Joyce smiled to the young girl, she had her mothers eyes but her hair reminded Joyce of Michelle's father.

"I'm your aunt, Joyce and these two are Jonathan and Will" Joyce introduced not only herself but her two sons to Michelle. A small smile forming on her face.

"It's nice to meet you, I wish it would have been better circumstances though" Michelle said with a small shrug. As she stood in front my her aunt and cousins she continued to not know what to say, nothing seemed right.

"Of course we all wish it was better circumstances" Joyce said softly to her niece. The four of them began making their way to collect Michelle's suitcases.

"So Michelle, how was your flight?" Will asked Michelle who bit her lip gently as she debated asking him to call her Ellie, she didn't want to sound rude which was a major worry for her. Will and Michelle were going to be in the same grade when Michelle started school 7th grade or as Michelle was used to year 8 calling it.

"Umm.. could you... Umm possibly call me Ellie, please. Mum and Dad only really call me Michelle if I'm in trouble" Michelle said not realising how she worded the sentence made it out to be like they were going to be joining them.

"And umm.. my flight was okay, I guess... I've never been on a plane before so that was scary" Michelle then said

"We will call you whatever you would like" Joyce reassured her neice. Michelle found her suitcases and the four of them headed to the car. Joyce's boyfriend Bob was currently sorting out the house to help Joyce out, he had the day of work to help Joyce sort things for Michelle's arrival, the spare room was now going to be Michelle's and Joyce had been busy with work to sort it out so Bob offered to help.

"Aunt Joyce, I would just like to say thank you for taking me in. You could of said no, you could have said that you didn't want to take me in and for that I'm so thankful for it" Michelle said softly as she anxiously bite down on her lip, biting her lip was a habit that Michelle always did when she was nervous or worried about something.
