FIRST-PERSON POV:
My head felt fuzzy. I couldn't properly remember what had happened. I opened my eyes to a blur. Everything was a mess inside my mind.

It felt as if I was laying on something. Maybe the ground? But it didn't feel as rough as the floor. It felt...mushy..?

'...huh?'. My vision cleared up in an unfamiliar environment. As I slowly regained consciousness, I took in my surroundings.

I saw what I assumed was the sky, but it didn't look anything like one. It seemed as if electrostatic grains, which appear when a TV isn't working, were spread across the horizon as far as the eye could see.

As I paid more attention, I realized that all I could hear was the humbuzz of the same electrostatic energy that surrounded me. An eerie feeling welled up inside of me.

Thoughts ran amok within my mind. Where was I? What is this place? How did I get here? Am I...safe?

That's when it hit me. The sudden feeling of being watched. I tried sitting up to see what was out there but to no avail. It was as if my body had given up on me.

'Ugh...I knew I shouldn't have gone after that curse earlier.' I regretted my decision. And the feeling was only getting worse. It felt like whoever or whatever was watching was getting closer.

A sudden shiver crawled up my spine. It was near.

Before I knew it, a figure crept into my line of sight. It had a humanoid form but something was...off. Its silhouette was shaky. As though it was just a shadow.

As I focused on it more, my suspicions were proven correct.  Although it had a humanoid form it looked nothing like a human.

This figure did not have any defined human-like limbs. Just a head on top of a long black stature.

It didn't have any facial features either. No nose, no mouth, no ears. Just two big white blotches for eyes. It stood before me, unmoving. It felt as if it was staring at me. Intensely.

I couldn't move a limb as I just laid there. As I thought hard about my next move, another figure which looked exactly like the previous one came into my vision. Then another. And another...and another.

Before I knew it I was surrounded by these mysterious beings. All of them stared at me directly.

My whole body tensed up. I could feel their harsh gazes upon me. Although they had no facial features to convey their emotions, I could almost physically sense their inimical energy. It felt like they were all judging me. And not in a pleasant manner at all.

My breaths shortened. It was getting hard to breathe. My stomach lurched as a sudden queasy feeling struck me. I had the urge to gag. It wasn't the smell or anything that unnerved me, rather it was the unsettling stares that made me feel like I was about to throw up.

It was overwhelming. The feeling that something was wrong. The feeling of all eyes being on me.  It felt as if my existence was a mistake. Everything in me told me I shouldn't be there.

My eyes went blurry again. Tears? Sweat? I didn't even know what it was. A wave of dread flooded over me. I was drowning? The ground seemed to be softer than before. I was being sunk into the ground.

A sudden rush of adrenaline took over me. I jumped up and flailed my arms around in an attempt to get myself back onto the surface. But my efforts were for naught, as I sank deeper and deeper into the ground.

The beings stood menacingly before me as I started suffocating. The ground was literally swallowing me whole.

AUTHOR'S POV:
You erratically shot up. Sweat covered your whole face. The air felt stifling.
