Today was the day of Sabrina's nikkah and waleema, we've been texting back and forth throughout most of the night, about her fears, what she's anxious about, what she's looking forward to and about expecting too much.
... Expecting too much, that is what most of us do; we expect a person to be like this or that, for them to have a certain type of personality for them to be compatible, for them to be this height, this colour, to have this kind of job, but life does not plan out in that way. Actually, Allah gives you what you deserve, what you have worked hard to deserve.
Allah has written your destiny, what you are going to eat in the next hour or so, what you're going to be wearing tomorrow, who you're going to meet, what type of friends you are going to have and what life partner you are going to get. Everything is already written out, so what is with the expectation? With worrying about the unknown?
Shouldnt we just put our trust in Allah after we have made our decision and leave it at that?
Insaan.. Mankind/humans, we are very hasty and worry too much.

I looked at my watch again for the fifth time in the last hour, how long does it take for Idris to have a shower? SubhanAllah
"Idris, I swear if you don't get out now I will turn off the hot water. " I shouted on the other side of the bathroom. He said something inaudible but because of the rushing water, I was unable to hear it.
"Ya binti, stop the shouting you are giving me a headache. " My abu said. I gave him a sad face. " But abi, he's taking so long and I need to leave in 10 mins. " I complained, hoping that he is able to take his monkey of a son out of the bathroom.
"Okay, okay. "Abi said as he stepped towards the bathroom door. He banged on it once, " Idris, Ajal fil hamam, Allah does not like those who distress others, yallah. "
And just like that the shower was turned off and you could hear shuffling on the otherside. Idris gave me a guilty look as he passed me and apologised, of course I rolled my eyes and pushed him up the stairs!

The only way I can describe Sabrina's house in this present time, is chaos. It seemed as if Aunty Fatima (Sabrina's mum) was flying from one place to another, ensuring everything was going as planned, ensuring the boys from their side of the family are running on time and not giving the groom a hard time, ensuring that her daughter isn't freaking out or anything.
