"Ermmm, what happened?" Bruno asked, who had bolted straight upright when awoken. He looked at his hermanas confused.

"I don't..." Julieta was about to answer when she felt something move in her grasp. Mirabel had tightened her grip on her mama's hand.

"Mira?"
_________

Why was it really hard to wake up? Her head felt fuzzy, pain aching in her head. She felt like she couldn't move, like a massive weight was on top of her, restricting her from getting up.

"Mira?" she heard someone murmur, catching the attention of two others.

She could hear someone jump out of a chair on the side of her to stand behind Julieta and someone else fall to the floor at the same time, out of the bed as they scrambled to stand come closer.

"Mira?" She heard her mama's voice called out. She sounded worried.

Mirabel let out a groan of discomfort as she tightened her grip on someone's hand. Her mind was fuzzy but she had a feeling it was her mama's. The softness of it gave it away. Bruno felt Pepa's hand grabbing his tightly as he heard her whisper under her breath for her dulce nube to open her eyes.

"Mirabel? Corazón, can you hear me?" Julieta asked in a quieter tone, holding her hija's hand tight and leaning closer. Mirabel let out a weak groan at the volume of her mama's voice, which was very loud to her. She tightened her grip again as if to answer her mama instead. It was like she had forgotten how to talk.

She tried opening her eyes which she immediately regretted as the ache in her head had grown into a pounding headache. Mirabel groaned again and shut her eyes.

"Mira? Abre los ojos, por favor." Julieta pleaded, running her hand through Mirabel's curls, brushing them away from her forehead.

Mirabel tried again as hazel eyes slowly opened. She made the mistake of pushing herself too hard to try and open her eyes wide which resulted in her having to squint her eyes due to the sunset light of Encanto beaming through the window. Her surroundings came into vision but barely. Why was it so blurry?

"Mirabel, can you hear me?" Julieta asked, on the verge of tears.

"Mama?" Mirabel turned her head towards Julieta who slowly came into vision. Her mama's eyes widened with a small smile.

"Yes, mi amor. It's me. It's Mama." Julieta answered, hastily. Mirabel twitched her fingers towards Julieta, something Mirabel had always done when she was too tired even as a kid. The Triplets recognised what Mirabel wanted, but Mirabel was too weak. Would it affect her?

"Mi amor, what if you're still..." Julieta started saying even though she was already half out her seat. Tears welled up in Mirabel's eyes as she looked at her mama.

"Please, mama." Mirabel silently cried. She always hated being in the same position for a long time and on top of that, she remembered that night. She just wanted her mama to hold her.

Julieta stood up out of the chair and put a hand underneath her hija's back and the other one at the top of her shoulder. Bruno moved the chair away from the bed as Julieta lifted Mirabel up to sit upright before sitting behind her so that Mirabel was leaning back with her head against Julieta's chest. Julieta's gentle hands brushed Mirabel's curls away from her forehead, running her fingers through her hair.

"Mama?" Mirabel mumbled, resting her head on her mama's chest, leaning into the contact as she curled into her on her lap. Despite knowing it's her mama, the 'question' slipped from her mouth. But she could trust her mama. Of course she can!

"Si, corazón." She pressed a kiss to Mirabel's head, before looking down at Mirabel's face.

"Hurts." Mirabel murmured suddenly, trying to lift her hand to massage the throbbing headache but her hand wouldn't budge from the bed. It felt weighted. Her entire body felt weighted.
