Shreya's POV ;
The whole city is decorated as a bride to welcome the new year. I'm walking back home after finishing editing a novel and attending a party organised by our Manager. Though the party is still going on and I ditched it to go back home to catch some sleep. Gladly I had my dinner at the party only. My whole body is aching like crazy and all I need is my pillow.
I glanced at my wrist watch and there's just half an hour left for the new year. I sped up to my locality but my step halted as I saw three men playing cards while drinking alcohol. He'll, it's new year's eve and everyone must have gone to attend the party organised by our locality head.
I took slow steps down my street enchanting Hanuman Chalisa while glancing towards them and gladly they were busy in their world. I sped up and was about to cross them but one of them stared at me. My heart beats stopped for a while and soon my whole body freezed as he patted his friend. They stared at me with a disgusting smirk and stood up from their seat advancing towards me. I shut my eyes tightly, hold onto my sling bag and was about to run but when I took my first step I fell on the ground due to a stone and they laughed at my clumsy self.
"Listen, don't...don't come near me." I stuttered with a little confidence that was left in me but one of them walked towards me while laughing. I crawled behind but he held my ankle saying,"How pretty you're??." I tried freeing my leg seeing his lustful eyes but the other laughed at my futile attempt.
"You're Okay Shreya.... nothing will happen to you." I mumbled to myself and kicked him with my left leg. He fell down and other two went near him while getting concerned. I gathered myself and stood up while holding a stone then started running only to hear,"Go and catch that girl."
I turned behind to find one of them running towards me. I sped up but my legs are literally giving up. I threw the stone at him but it didn't hit him. Ugghh !!
He grabbed my bag and without caring I left my bag and ran ahead because nothing is more important than my own self. I glanced behind to find three of them running towards me. I screamed and cried for help in case anyone is here who can help me. My breaths get heavier with each step. I feel like I'll get unconscious as my whole body gave up already. My steps are getting slower and bang !!
