[Annika - A, Shivaay - S, Rudra - Ru]
A year ago
Annika was still in shock but in a good way. Three different test kits and all showed the same result. She was pregnant. They were pregnant. They were going to have a baby!
A: Shivaay will be so happy! I can't wait to tell him.
She was about to jump with joy but stopped herself at the last second
A: idiot, can't do all of that now. I have to be careful
She caressed her belly, imagining the bump that would appear in a few months, and smiled to herself.
A: It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, I'll surprise Shivaay then
Annika was super excited, she was having a hard time containing her emotions. Luckily the family members assumed it to be her excitement for the wedding anniversary.
Shivaay had already planned a dinner date for Annika and strictly told her that this year, she would not plan anything. She always took charge and never let him do it, so this year he put his foot down. The date wasn't a surprise but at least his preparations were.
S: someone looks excited today (he teased her). What's up?
A: nothing, just thinking about what you've planned for tomorrow
S: oh it's gonna blow your mind, Mrs. Oberoi
A(in her mind): we'll see whose mind gets blown away tomorrow Mr. Oberoi
A: we'll see
S: oh you will

The next morning, Annika went to Pinky's room to talk to her.
A: mom, can you accompany me somewhere?
Pinky: sure beta, but where?
A: I'll tell you on the way
Pinky: ok, let's go
The car pulled up in front of a hospital and they stepped out. Confusion was clear on Pinky's face
Pinky: Annika is everything okays? Why are we here? Are you alright?
A: mom, please don't ask yet. I promise everything's fine, don't worry
Pinky wondered what her daughter-in-law was up to but she accompanied her regardless. As they entered the gynecologist's office, realization dawned upon Pinky
Pinky: Oh my maata! Annika, you're pregnant!! (she screamed with joy)
A: Mom, don't scream
Pinky: I'm so happy, I couldn't control it. My little kanji eyed grandchild is coming
A: that's what I need to confirm
Pinky: so you haven't told Shivaay yet?
A: I've not told anyone yet. I took the test yesterday, and it was positive, so I thought I'll confirm with the doctor first and then surprise Shivaay
