Tae is very happy for days now; he has always dreamed of having a loving and caring husband. He wanted to have a place that would smell and look like Home. After their marriage, Jungkook gave him full liberty to change the interior of their shared room. Everyday he wakes up to Jungkook cooking food for them in the kitchen. Jungkook’s cooking skills are excellent and he cooks ramen the best. Tae has discovered that Jungkook has an obsession with eating vegetables and he gets angry when people don’t eat them. Though Tae is okay with eating veggies, he likes to tease Kook to get scolded. He likes the way his doe-eyes get bigger and lips get pouty while scolding him. 

On the other hand, Tae’s cooking skills are on f grade level. The only cooking that he can do is boiling water and hence the dishes he tries to cook for dinner are often half-burnt or raw. Jungkook never complains about them, but the day Tae cooked perfect Stake he received a whole set of color brushes as a reward. It did not take Jungkook long to find out how to make Tae smile and he is very fond of the box shape his lips make. He brings Tae’s favorite chocolates, and ice creams as a compensation for his “lack of love”. 

Tae has no idea what he is missing out on because his husband does no t love him. He knows there will be a lack of physical intimacy but other than that, Jungkook fulfills every responsibility of a husband. He is aware of the fact that this is not love, but even if it is affection and care, he is more than happy with what he is getting. Jungkook also promised him a date on the weekend which is basically an excuse to take him out of the house. Presently, Tae is busy creating a painting that he wants to give Jungkook as a wedding gift. He sketched their wedding venue and added elements from nature to make it look like a spring garden. He smiled with satisfaction as she added a coat of burnish on it. This is not just a wedding gift, this will be a witness of his love confession. Yes, he is planning to confess his love for Jungkook. The burden he feels for loving Jungkook will become lighter after this and now all he wants is to live with Jungkook happily.

Tae expected a fancy restaurant for their date, but Jungkook took him to an unfinished tower. Jungkook guided him to the third floor of the building; they sat together on the dusty floor, staring outside. The dark sky was studded with stars and Tae was mesmerized by the view. “This is the place where I wanted to start my new life with Jiu. She is the one who designed this building. I wanted to bring you here, not because I wanted to make you feel bad, but because I thought you would like this place as well.” The silence of the night was broken by Jungkook’s words. Tae hummed in response; a thin silver lining was touching Jungkook’s face making him look ethereal. Tae was more busy admiring his love than the gorgeous moon.

“You know, I never thought I would get to live a normal life again. My mind is unburdened now and you are the one who did this. I am grateful to you. Thank you bear.” Tae smiled at him, but his hands were shaking; he was so ready to speak his heart out but his tongue was getting dry. He quickly grabbed the painting he carried all the way and handed it to Jungkook. “T..this is a painting I made. Hope you like it.” Jungkook was more than happy to add this one to his collection but unfortunately he could not see it due to lack of light. 

“I… I l…love you Jungkook. I love You.” It was a sudden confession for Jungkook who was visibly shaken by his words. Tae’s confession caught Jungkook off-guard. The soft, dim candle light showed the tears that were rushing down from Tae’s eyes. It also did not fail to catch Jungkook shaking badly and before Tae was dragged by Jungkook outside, he heard his broken voice, “Taehyung, we cannot be together.”
