Maxon
I sigh, enjoying the cool crisp morning, and the peace that comes with it.
"Alpha. Up for a spar?" Kli asks, walking up. I chuckle, shaking my head. "No. Not now. Not on a morning like this. I want to enjoy it." I reply back and he joins me at my side, looking out over the hill that towers over our village.
"Yes, I see what you mean. But later today? You do owe me a match." I chuckle at his persistence, rubbing the back of my head.
"Of course. Wouldn't want to miss the chance to beat up my beta." I answer him, and he guffaws. "Yeah right. Good luck with that." We smile at each other teasingly, and let the silence of the morning take care of us.
It is broken after a few minutes when my dads walks up from behind. I turn to them, frowning. "Son... we have some visitors." I arch an eyebrow at those words that came from my Dad's mouth, and after exchanging a glance with Kli, follow the two towards the pack house.
I raise an eyebrow at the scene before me, and Kli growls angrily at the sight of the too-well dressed visitors.
Payne bears his teeth at the so called "rehabilitation agents," getting up all in their faces. They glare back, a few of their own moving their hand to their well equipped belts.
The lead man of the group and Payne are facing each other not even an inch apart, spitting and hissing in the middle of the group.
"I don't give a damn if the information is classified! I am the Head Warrior, and Moon Goddess knows that my alpha does not need to be bothered by you lowly mutts!" Payne hisses.
"Watch your tone, filthy dog! We are here for the Alpha on a sensitive topic, with information only he should hear first before allowing the rest of his yellow-bellied pack to be a part of it!" The lead man barks back.
I suck in a breath sharply, clenching my teeth at the scene. "What the hell do they want?" Kli mutters under his breath, and I pinch my nose, tuning out the rest of the carelessly rising argument.
"That. Is. ENOUGH!" I roar, causing everyone and everything around to become still and quiet.
The group made up of Payne and his warriors instantly stiffens at the command from their Alpha, needlessly bowing their head in the slightest inkling of shame and humiliation. The group of agents turns to face me, all red-faced and angry eyes softening at the sight of me.
"What the hell are you people thinking, coming onto my land, in my village, picking a fight with my Head Warrior, and calling my pack such despicable names?!" I demand of the agents, and they shift uncomfortably.
"That is sensitive business, we believe. It would be best if we spoke in private with you and perhaps only a few of your most trusted pack members. The information we have for you is not for the feint of heart, Alpha Maxon." I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose.
