Maxon

Besides the massive headache pounding into my very skull, I wake up relatively okay.

Until I remember all the events that have transpired up until the point I was knocked out due to the nasty crash.

I smirk at the image of the small skunk flinging itself onto Alpha Clark, forcing the man to literally freak out.

My mate sure is... full of surprises.

Speaking of my mate... I sit up quickly, causing the others in my room to rush to their feet. "Where is he?" I demand, ignoring the fact that everyone is here. They must have flown in as soon as they heard the news.

"Easy, son. You were out for twenty-four hours." Papa murmurs softly, but I slap his helping hand away. I will apologize later.

I move my feet to the ground and stand, ignoring everybody's protests.

"Where. Is. He?" I hiss, and everyone stares at me with clouded eyes, and unspoken responses.

"Your mate is in an isolated separate room, Alpha Maxon. No one is allowed in or out besides my own team until I say so." An unfamiliar woman in a white coat says from the doorway, with Alpha Clark practically towering over her from behind.

"What?!" I hiss, stomping over.

She watches me calmly as I stop right in front of her. "You and everyone else is a danger to him at the moment, considering he has NEVER had any vaccines or shots except for the ones done to his skunk form when he was first caught. He is also heavily injured from that bear, malnourished beyond belief, and is scheduled for the re-breaking of both of his legs due to both having not healed correctly the first time. So yes, I stick to what I have said before, regardless of you being an Alpha and his mate." She explains in a monotone voice, her eyes daring me to argue with her.

I open my mouth to speak, but she beats me to it.

"And furthermore, Alpha Maxon, your mate is highly afraid of any contact with any living being besides himself, and has feld from such interactions his entire life. I will not jeopardize his already shattered mental health by throwing you in the mix when it has been clear from day one that he has no idea what a mate is." She finishes, her piercing red eyes practically peeling away my skin.

I look away, unable to hold the glare.

"Very good, Alpha Maxon. I will keep you and everybody else notified of his recovery, and as soon as I deem him well enough, I will allow visitation. Have a good day, everyone." She says before whirling around and shoving Alpha Clark out of the way before walking down the hall and out of sight.

The silence of the room she leaves is stifling.
