Rezair
I walk past the pack members, ignoring their gazes and scoffs. The relationship with the pack is tense, and everyone is out for themselves.
But it is how every pack works. Everyone wants to be Alpha, and considering I am the heir to that title, everyone wants to either suck up to me, or challenge me.
The scars on my body are proof of those challenges, and me standing here is proof that I have not yet lost.
It is the way of the world, and I have been taught that the more scars I have, the more pain they have caused, and the worse they look, the stronger I am.
I should be proud. But I have always felt something was off about these rules of life. I can never pinpoint it, but something nasty and dark has always lingered around this pack, just right on the edges.
I sigh as I enter the lavish house, shuddering as I pass a door I never want to find myself entering.
"Rezair, come." Father, and current Alpha of our pack, declares in his bold voice, and I step into the kitchen to find him and Mother eating the food a few of the pack omegas made.
I stand to attention as soon as Father looks over at me, his dark eyes skimming over me quickly. "Let me see it." he huffs, and I hand him the report card, standing stiffly.
He tears it open, glancing at it and looks back up to me with a smile. "Good. I am glad to have a competent son, at the very least. You have training in half an hour, and Beta Marcus challenged you for a dual at sunset. You're obviously smart enough, so now be strong enough." He mumbles, handing me the report card back. "Yes, Alpha." I mumble before walking out of the kitchen.
I go to my small room to prepare for the rest of today's activities.
This is the way of the world. Right?
Alpha Clark
I am checking over some papers for official pack business, when a knock on the door resounds throughout the room.
"Come in." I say without looking up.
"Alpha Clark, very sorry to bother you at this time." Gentri, says as he walks in with my sister, Tibithia. "No, do not be sorry. It is always good to be visited by family, especially when I have paperwork to do."I chuckle, looking up to watch the nervously stand there.
"Oh, sit down you two. You look like I am about to yell at you or something. How is your newest patient, Tibi?" I continue, tilting my head at them.
"Well...that is what we wanted to talk to you about." Tibi mutter as they settle in the armchairs across from me." I nod, signaling for them to continue.
"The kid is very sweet. He has just never known what domesticated life is like. He is confused, and wild. He didn't even know what bandages or a cast were. He is scared, but under all that, with the right touch, I believe he has potential for a good life with Alpha Maxon and as a Luna. And more." She explains, and I nod, clasping my hands in front of mine.
