The Mistake I'll Never Regret
Chapter 5
Jac's pov
I ran down stairs with Dylan following close behind.
"Jac darling how are you feeling?" My mother asked once I entered the kitchen.
"Mum can we talk to you please?" I asked pulling Dylan beside and completely ignoring her question.
"Is everything alright? What happened?" She started asking questions.
"Mum please. We'll explain. Where's dad?" I asked sitting down at the kitchen table with Dylan beside me and my mother across.
"His still at work. Should be home soon. Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" She asked. I let out a huge sigh before answering.
"I'm pregnant" I mumbled. My mums mouth dropped and her hands flew to her mouth. She was in pure shock.
"How?" Was all she said.
"I went to a party with Bel a couple weeks ago and well it just kinda happened" I mumbled again looking at the table. I couldn't bare to look into my mothers eyes.
"And the father is?"
"Dylan, it was an accident. He didn't know it was me nor did I know it was him. I'm so sorry mum. It was a stupid terrible thing. I'm so sorry" I started crying. Placing my hands over my face. I felt a pair of hands on my back rubbing small circles. "I'm so sorry" I kept repeating. I heard a chair move back and small, fragile arms wrap around me.
"Shhh stop crying. We'll work this through together. It's going to be okay" my mum whispered in my ear. Is she actually going to help me. I looked up, staring into her eyes. Anger and sadness filled.
"I'm sorry" I whispered.
"I know baby I know" we stayed in this awkward but comfortable position for a few more minutes.
"Why are you helping me? Why aren't you kicking me out?" I asked after I calmed down a little bit.
"Because you are my daughter, and everyone makes mistake. Big or little....I'm honestly so angry and upset right now. But no matter how angry or upset I am, I'll never be able to kick you out. You may have done something stupid at such a young age, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to love you any less. We'll work through this together" my mum replied. I hugged her tightly.
"Thank you mum" I whispered. "What about dad? Won't he get angry?" I wondered letting go of the hug.
"He'll be furious. But then he'll calm down and support you. I'll talk to him tonight and break it to him gently" my mother replied. I hugged her again, thanking her for being so supportive.
"Thank you Mrs.Reed" Dylan whispered before following me up stairs.
"They took that so much better than I expected" Dylan commented once we took step into my room. I nodded agreeing with him. He looked over at the clock on the wall. "I should probably get going. It's late and my parents are probably questioning Belinda about where I am. Don't want her telling them about the baby just yet" Dylan spoke walking towards the window. I grabbed his hand pulling him back towards me.
"Please don't leave...please. You can stay the night" I begged holding his hand tightly.
"I'm sorry Jac. I can't stay. I have to make sure Belinda doesn't say anything" Dylan said. I sighed letting go of his hand. I looked down at my legs and started fiddling with my fingers. As much has I want to kill Dylan. I can never hate him. He is the father of my baby, so I might as well get used to having him around. Dylan let out a huge sigh before he spoke.
"Fine, ill stay the night" Dylan speaks. A cheeky smile spreads across my face. "Now move over so I can hop in" he smiles, sitting on my bed beside me, placing a soft gentle kiss on my cheek.
I moved to the other side slipping into the blanket. My head hitting the pillow gently & Dylan's arms wrap around my waist tightly pulling me closer to his bare muscular body. I turned around to face him, his arms still wrapped around me. I look at him & kiss his cheek gentle before snuggling deep into his chest. I felt safe and warm with Dylan's arms wrapped around me. It felt right being in his arms. I let out a small sigh & drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
