I didn't know how to make him feel comfortable knowing the fact that he was in a painful situation, he seemed like he was silently enduring the pain of seeing his mom lying in bed unconscious.
Even though he was sorry for not being in class for the presentation I didn't mind him being nice to me. We had our differences and now he's going to date samra its quite uncomfortable for me but I can't deny that am jealous of her.
Samra has everything a girl wants in her life,she's popular in class, joined a cheerleader and now she's going to date or already dating a basketball player who is nominated as captain.
I know this because am part of the group of students who write reviews about the school and what goes on.
And now here I am leaving the hospital when I heard Brian calling my name, I stopped walking and waited for him. He then offered to walk me out.
We reached a bench and sat on it and stared at the sky,the stars were shining and the moon was bright.
"Thanks again for coming, I didn't expect to see you here after what happened between us" he said as he leaned back still looking up.
"You're welcome and whatever it was, its best to forget about it, I don't think anything will change and besides you made your decision so let's not" I said knowing what he was talking about.
"I know that I have hurt you and I think we are better of as friends, what do you think" he asked as he looked at me carefully.
"I think that too, besides I feel like we are going to be great friends, don't you?" I asked even though calling him a friend might cause trouble which I might not be able to handle well.
"I think it's better that way,you know no hard feelings and enjoy college life as friends no problem " he said as he smiled at me.
I nodded in agreement, I also want to enjoy college life but how will that be possible knowing that you have a crush on your friend who is dating your other friend.
I just have to swallow my feelings or ignore it for better and think of him as a friend only. We then exchanged numbers and I left as I had a class.
Once i reached my room, I found Maria sitting on the couch writing notes or something while humming to herself.
I walked towards the bed and laid my body as I felt tired,without a word she stood up and gave me a glass of water.
"How's your friend's mom doing?"she asked as she sat on her bed which was next to mine.
"She's out of danger thank Allah" I said as I drank water due to thirst.
"Are you ok, you seem a little tense, did something happen while you're there?" She asked looking at me concerned.
"Kinda,I don't know, by any chance how would you feel if the boy you like falls for someone else?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Wait do you like him that much?" She asked as she leaned forward.
"Yes unfortunately he likes another girl who happens to want us to be friends so what do you think?" I asked hoping to get a good idea.
"I don't know what to say, I mean I don't think wait ,do mean to say the guy you like likes the girl who wants to be friends with you oh God!that's not great" she said shook her head in disbelief.
"What would you do if you were me?"I asked again.
"I think you should try to ignore your feelings and make the effort of just being friends who knows you might get used to it"she said as she walked away.
