NOT EVEN 18, BUT MOETTI'S MAKING WAVES!
Odette Moetti, the freshest face on the British team. Only 17, she's has become the second to ever be scouted before reaching adulthood by the team in forty years.
She hasn't been absent from the watery scene, in fact she's been a household name in the swimming world since she debuted at 12. In the years since, she's wracked up numerous records under her fin and has been handed more gold medals than anyone else in her age group. Known for dominating Butterfly heats, it seems like her performance at the British Summer Championships caught the attention of British Women's Captain Jo Welks.
When questioned about her bold decision, Welks said; "There's talent in the swimming world — of course there is — but to have a raw knack for swimming like that girl does? Not many do. I'd be a fool to pass up the opportunity."
Since the hire, and growth in international attention, some have began comparing her to the esteemed Aya Mori, Japan's most famous multi-gold medalist during the seventies. Though Hayashi waited until after her studies to officially compete, there has been remark about the pair's similar Butterfly style. When asked, she declined to comment which only fuels the intrigue surrounding Moetti,
Regardless, Aquatics believes that this year will be like no other. With Moetti's young age, she has plenty of time to show us what she has to offer.
