(Rimuru's Perspective)
It's been a few days since we brought over Kaijin and the other dwarves
Kaijin was working with the other dwarves we brought along, managing the wood duties that were previously handled by the hobgoblins. They were progressing quickly. New houses, with unparalleled quality were popping up left and right
Of course, they were following the construction plans that Myrd made. We were planning on expanding towards Veldora's sealed cave. I had sent out Myrd along with Ranga and a few other dwarves to survey the area, and that surveying resulted in Myrd making plans for something that looked more akin to a town rather than a village
Not that I have any problems with it. Actually, it's better that way
By now, we had made considerable progress in creating a water and septic system. Even though it may seem unnecessary, it is really crucial to the safety of the lesser races that live here and that will live here. Since, everybody isn't like us, obviously. They could suffer from diseases and illnesses. Thats why, keeping the hygiene high in order to keep the dwarves and hobgoblins safe is a must
The water system took the direction of its flow from the river we were adjacent to. We were almost done building a water-processing building as well. That'd be where the river water was purified and distributed to people's houses
As for the septic system, we built a large chamber out of wood that we had buried in the ground. The wood's inside surfaces have been treated to improve their resistance to rotting, then reinforced with cement
And outside of town, we had built a waste-processing facility, where we would make the fertilizer for our crops
In addition to this, They had built a large temporary building, a sort of gymnasium they could sleep in during construction. It was rather slipshod since we had no intention of making it permanent, but it did do the job it was intended for
Outlining the assorted neighborhood divisions was almost finished as well. The upper-class houses, including the one I'd stay in, would be built near the cave mouth. We'd have a line of homes meant for the tribal elders, with the other residences spread out around them
Giving Myrd the architectural plans of the previous timeline's Tempest really helped with hastening the building process
When he actually saw them, he was staring at them, eyes wide open. That went on for a couple of minutes. And in classic Myrd fashion, he didn't utter a word
The town was built in the shape of a cross, with a wide main street, making it easy for townspeople to work as a group if the need arose
The only real disadvantage to this setup was that it could be easy for enemies to move around in case of invasion. But, no one would ever make it that far. Mostly because they couldn't, since Ciel and I are here
Well, enough about that
Since, I can feel them
They are here
As soon as I thought about that, Rigurd entered the room Ciel and I were staying in, while saying "Oh, is that where you were, Rimuru-sama? I was searching for you!"
"What is it?" I reply, while playing dumb
"I've come to report to you, sir. We've captured a few suspicious Individuals" He said
"If it is someone that you would call suspicious, it shouldn't be monsters. Humans, them?" Ciel asked him, playing along with my act
"Yes, Ciel-sama. We didn't engage them like you had ordered us" He said, his face full of proudness, since he had followed our orders
