(Ace's POV)

It's the last period of the day, I have made it through it all. I went into almost every class with them and sat for a few minutes before Greyhat said that he wanted to leave. At lunch, Greyhat bought me and Maggie lunch but he and Blackhat didn't eat, I wonder what they eat like- do they eat normal human food? I also wonder why he was being so nice to us, buying us lunch, giving us an easy punishment, and that awkward moment him and I had a while ago, kept kind of happening. I would catch him looking at me at random moments then he looks away fast pretending as if nothing happened, I wanted to ask but it was not my place. We were walking down the hallway, we had just finished the last class. I look back at all of them, "I guess it's time to report back to Mr. Coldstone." Maggie gives me a sad look.

"Damn, that was way too quick!" No, it wasn't.

"Well, it's time to go, come on." I started walking, and they followed. I wonder if Greyhat picked a student already, he should at least have an idea by now. 

(Greyhat's POV)

Who should I pick? I thought they are a lot of qualified applicants that are smart, powerful, and neat but, none seemed to stick out to me. I was taken out of my train of thought when I felt eyes on me, I look over at Blackhat who looks very tired and unhappy. "Well? Have you picked one yet? I'm getting sick from being here so long." I saw him roll his eyes. "It seems that it's affecting you too."

"What do you mean?" He gives me a look, how strange.

"You've been acting awfully nice to the students, I think you need to get out of here for a breather too." I look ahead, thinking, come on there must be one student that stuck out, other than him. Then I got it, I look back at Blackhat.

"Don't worry sir, I have chosen, we'll be out of here very soon." Blackhat gave his usual grin.

"Good, now-" He stopped, I gave a confused look as he stared at something, I looked over to where he was looking to see the girl walking next to us.

"Oh I'm sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to make sure you too are doing alright is all." She smiled, what was her name again?

"Maggie, right?" I said, looking her up and down. 

"Yep! That's my name!" He slightly jumped, Ace wasn't kidding when he said she was energetic. "And you're Blackhat's friend Greyhat, the one looking for a manager." He stuck her tongue out like a dog, it was quite strange.

"Yes... Anyway, we are fine, just making sure we have everything ready." 

"So you have chosen a student to be your manager?" She jumped.

"Yes." She gave a quiet giggle then backed up a bit when she realized how close she was. 

"So? Who is it?" 

"None of you're business fan girl, now back up," Blackhat ordered, she backed up more. 

"Oh, I'm not a fan girl, I just want to know if you picked my bestie Acey over there." She pointed at Ace, we both looked, then I looked back at her. 

"Why do you want him to be picked? Didn't you two make a promise?" 

"Oh! He told you! Well yeah but," She looks away. "I want him to have the best life he can and I'm kind of holding him back from that. He doesn't wanna admit it but I know it's true, he's had many offers and he has declined all of them for me." She got droopier, and her smile faded a bit. "I keep trying to get him to accept them but he won't accept them if I'm not in it." She looks up at me. "He's already declined you huh?" I nod. "Yeaahh, thought so, don't worry! If you do pick him, I will make him go with you!" She jumps, smiling even bigger than before. I was so confused about how this girl's emotions worked. She looks over at Ace in front of us a way's then back at me. "I'm gonna go try to talk to him down now, enjoy you two!" She runs off up to Ace. We both stare ahead in silence for a minute before Blackhat speaks.

"Give's me knockoff Demencia vibes but without the lovey-dovey crap." His fake smile faded, "Who did you pick anyway?" I look at him, unsure of what to say.

"Well-"

"Here we are!" We both look over to Maggie and Ace standing by the office door, I walk toward them, forgetting all about the question Blackhat asked, he was gonna figure it out soon enough anyway, so he can wait just a minute longer. 

(Ace's POV)

I open the door for all of them as they walked in, I followed in to see Oris sitting behind his desk with a big smile. "There you all are, how did the tour go? Did these two do well?" Oris looks at me, I gulp. 

"I think they did fine, how about you Blackhat?" Greyhat looks at him, we all do. He rolled his eyes.

"They did fine I guess." He sounded grumpy, as usual. I looked back at Oris.

"Good! Say Greyhat, who have you chosen to be your new manager?" Before he could answer he was cut off. "Oh, I'm sorry, I should get these out of here before you say. Ace, Ms. Cabella, please leave the room." I turn around with Maggie, and we both walk toward the door. As I grabbed the handle I was stopped.

"Wait- no need." I look back at Greyhat, "They can stay."

"Whatever for?" Oris gave him a confused look, and so did Blackhat.

"Because you see Oris, all your students are bright and tidy but none were what I was looking for, except one." 

"I still do not see how this relates to them." 

"Well the one student that caught my eye, the one that seems so perfect for the role, is right-" He walks over to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. "here." Everyone went silent, except Maggie, she was jumping up and down and squealing. I moved away from his hand, this is what I feared, I hoped that out of all the villains that came here, I wouldn't get picked by these ones, why? Because I can't say no. 

"I know that he has a history of saying no to offers because they do not satisfy him, so I have changed my offer up a bit to fit what he wants." he looked down at me smiling. "Ace, I will let Maggie come with us if you take my offer, she will become your helper of a sort, do small tasks for you while you do big ones for me." I give him a shocked look, was he serious?

"B-but can't you just- take me? Like- your friends with Blackhat, you can have anyone you want and they can't say no." He leans down a bit toward me. 

"True, but if I tried to take you from here, you would try to sneak out to see little old Maggie over there." He wasn't wrong, he straightens back up. "So I'll take both, so I get my manager and you two get each other, win-win." I look to Blackhat who seems to just be down with this than to Oris who seemed to still be in shock. Finally, I look at Maggie who is just watching with a big smile on her face, this must be a dream come true for her. "So Ace," I look back at Greyhat. "What do you say?" He puts his hand out to me. "Will you take my offer?"
