The cold sky was colourless with white clouds, dropping snowflakes that would be carried by the wind through a large and bustling town. Crowds of people were flowing through the streets and marketplaces, eager to buy what groceries they could in the middle of the rush of everyone else's shopping.

In the middle of the crowds, barely getting through, was an adult male in a police uniform, with a small firearm holstered on his side. The man sighed as he tried pushing through everyone in a hurry, occasionally stepping on loose flyers, and missing posters. "Good grief..." He dreaded, wishing to be anywhere else. As he struggled to manoeuvre around families and individuals, he internally vented his frustrations.

"Why the hell did I have to be the one to patrol this part in rush hour..." He angrily monologued in his head. "I should've just called in sick..." Stopping in place, the police officer looked up with dread all over his face, staring up at the light snow falling around him.

"I don't get paid enough for this shit." He croaked out.

Suddenly, the officer felt someone aggressively bump into his side. Staggering back, the officer nearly made a domino effect by bumping into other people, but steadied himself just in time. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" The officer screamed, seeing the presumed person walking away. They had scruffy ash blonde hair, reaching just above his shoulders, and a dirty plain white haori.

Turning around in a panic, the boy looked at the officer with crimson eyes. He looked like a young teen, but it was difficult to confirm for the officer, as the boy had a red bandana covering their mouth and nose. "S-Sorry, sir!" The boy apologised, bowing his head quickly before disappearing into the crowds.

Sighing yet again, the police officer rolled his eyes. "Strange kid." He remarked, finding the bandana he wore strange. It didn't take long for another passing civilian bumped into him, making him realise he should get moving again. He patted himself down, making sure everything with his uniform was in check, before patting the firearm on his side...

...Only to feel nothing.

"-Eh?"

His spine shivered in fear, realising someone stole his pistol. "No... No no no no no no" The officer panicked, glancing around in a hurry to see who stole it.

"When did this happen!? Just now!? Was it that boy?" His eyes darted around quickly, until he saw the same scruffy haired boy in the crowd ahead.

As if he knew what was happening, the ash blonde boy slowly turned his head as he kept walking. But that apologetic aura he had when he bumped into the officer was suddenly gone. He lowered the red bandana mask to hang around his neck, as the boy cracked a prideful smile.

"It... was you!" The officer internally yelled as the pieces started clicking together in his head. All as the boy stuck his tongue out and pulled down on his eye, mocking the police officer, before turning back around, and bolting further into the crowd. A vein visibly grew on the man's forehead through sheer anger, as he grabbed hold of a whistle and blew.

As the high pitched sound of the whistle rang through the hair, the ash blonde boy looked over his shoulder for a moment. "STOP! STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE!" The officer screamed , pushing civilians aside to catch up to the thief. The scruffy haired boy watched for a moment, before cracking a joyful smile, revealing his true, prideful and challenging nature.
