Adjusting her uniform, Ameylia sat in the Ravenclaw lockerroom, confused on how to strap her arm pads on. Sia walked in and giggled at her struggle.
"You didn't have quidditch at Ilvermorny, did you?" She asked, sitting beside the brunette and helping her.
"No. We had boring things called volleyball and gymnastics. None included gymnastics, and the moreover 'aggressive' sports, were only for the boys." Ameylia complained. "Girls couldn't play 'football' or 'lacrosse'."
"That's messed up. Sports should be for everyone." Sia insisted, finishing strapping her pads on. "There go are. You ready then?"
"Um. No." Ameylia said, biting her cheek.
"Hey, it's okay to be nervous for your first match." Sia put her hand on Ameylias shoulder. "I remember mine, about three years ago. I was terrified. But then, it was so fun that I forgot how stressed I was."
Ameylia smiled at the tall girl and stood up with her, them walking out hand in hand to the rest of the team.
"Okay Eagles." Roger said, crossing his arms with a notepad in his hands. "Stay strong. Keep your eyes peeled. Never turn your back." He turned to Cho, Oakly, and Ameylia. "It's nerve wracking. Adrenaline racing. But don't think of that as a bad thing. It's the best part of the game." He smirked and put his hand in the middle of their circle. "Eagles on three."
Everyone put their hands in and Ameylia chuckled, remembering how everyone at muggle elementary would do this in physical education.
"One, two, three!"
"Eagles!"
The game started with everyone in their correct positions, anxious to play a part in winning. Ameylia sat on her broomstick, looking around. The Hufflepuff team consisted of Cedric, Martha, Everest, and Kamala Jane as the chasers. Ethan Dile as their seeker. Hayden as their keeper. And Mylah Carol and Daniel Evans as their beaters.
Ameylia had heard the news about Hayden and Cedric from her teammates, but Mylah was who she was scared of. The blonde standing at 6'0 with piercing dark eyes and her commitment to sports, Ameylia knew that she was in for a rough time. Ameylia also knew the rumor that Mylah was dating Oliver Wood, and it takes one egoistic to know another.
The game begun.
The quaffles shot into the air, Oakly, Roger, and Sia shot up towards them. Not far behind we're Kamala, Martha, and Cedric. Ameylia watched the quarrel of the ball, it never stopping once. She could see that Oakly was already tired, and Roger was filling in for her. Ameylia's eyes lifted to the clouds. Cho was out of sight. Ethan's eyesight followed hers, and he blasted into the air without a second thought.
At points 300 to 378, the Hufflepuffs were winning. Cho and Ethan were still out of sight, until a shout for the stands abrupted excitedly.
"Cho! There she is!" Everyone turned up to the ravenette barreling downwards on her broom, her hand enclosed on something. Ameylia looked up at Cho and relief washed over her until,
SWOOOOOOSH
The quaffle was racing right towards her. Ameylia held her balance and caught it with both her hands. She threw it right at the center hoop, right before Mylah's eyes could catch the speed. Roaring exploded from the Ravenclaw tent and a few students chanted Ameylias name. Cho was finally in perfect eyesight, Ethan and the chasers not far behind her. Everyone cheered and Ameylia realized, they'd won!
All of the ravenclaws flew to the middle and high fives eachother. A few of the humble Hufflepuffs like Martha and Ethan flew down and congratulated them.
"Butter beer for everyone tonight!" Cheered Roger and everyone clapped.
