The Castle buzzed with joy as Valentines was right around the corner. Verah and Cho were busy helping Professor Sprout set up pink decorations in the great hall, while Fred was checking in on Ameylia.
In the past weeks the girl had been to very few classes, been out never, and tired a majority of breakfasts that she rarely attended.
"Knock knock." Speak Fred, slightly opening the door to the decked out dorm. Oakly and Natalie had hung up cardboard hearts and floating pink and red candles. "You decent, Silver?"
No answer allowed the boy to slip in and sit on Ameylia's bed.
"Want to walk to Potions with me?" He asked. No answer, once again.
"Hey." The boy said, inspecting Ameylia's face. Her eyes were glued to the wall.
"Ah..." he said, standing up and leaving. "Wait here-"
A few moments later the boy returned with Pomfrey, her questioning him how he snuck into the room in the first place. She noticed Ameylia and sat down beside her.
"She doesn't look sick." Pomfrey said, feeling Ameylias head. "But she does look tired. I'll take her to the infirmary and test her."
The nurse grabbed Ameylia's arm and helped her up, dragging her out of the room. They passed by multiple confused students on the way to Pomfrey's office. Fred followed cautiously, Verah catching up and following too.
They all arrived and Ameylia was sat down my Pomfrey, her immediately digging into the medicine cabinet.
"I don't have what I think you need." She said.
"Ilvermorny's real good with spells, ya'know? Maybe she can make it?" Pomfrey shook her head and Verah's suggestion.
"I don't recommend a student use magic when feeling this ill." The woman insisted. Everyone went silent, trying to think.
"What's she got?" Fred asked, crossing his arms.
"From her symptoms, I assume Gämme Poison. Have you been messing around in Professor Sprouts class, Miss Granger?" Asked Pomfrey. Ameylia shrugged.
"That's a yes to me." Pomfrey nodded, digging through more cabinets and books. Fred and Verah said goodbye to Ameylia and left to their classes.
"Is she up?" Asked George as the group sat down for lunch.
"She's in Pomfrey's. Hopefully she can figure out what's wrong." Fred said. He forked at his corn and sighed.
"She'll be okay, Fred." Verah insisted, patting her cousin's shoulder. "I mean, we're at Hogwarts. No one stays sick for long 'ere."
"True." Neville said, "you'know they're holdin' a match for Gryffindor against Ravenclaw. You have any stand ins if Ameylia can't play?" Everyone turned to Cho who was sitting silently and reading her book. Her eyes travelled up to see the attention was on her.
"Um, she'll be fine by then." She said, going back to her book. The Gryffindors looked at eachother uneasily and finished their lunches.
"Cho's right, she will be fine." Natalie said. "Now someone pass the roast?" Neville handed it down and they smiled at eachother for a minute.
"Woah there." George laughed, eyeing the two.
"Shut it, Weasley." Natalie smacked George on the side of his head and he let out a big laugh.
"Hey, I thought I was Weasley." Ron humphed, crossing his arms and chewing his roast.
"You're all Weasley." Natalie shrugged, sticking her tongue out at Ron and continuing her meal.
