Jennifer's POV
I am woken by the sound of an alarm telling me to put on my seatbelt so that the plane can land.
I take out my headphones and put my iPod back into my bag then put on my seatbelt and wait for the plane to hit the runway.
"It always takes so long to land" I think to myself. After about 15 minutes of hovering in mid air the plane finally touches the run way and pulls to a halt so that I and the other passengers can leave the plane.
My father picks up our overhead luggage while me and my mother get off the plane.
The heat of LA hits me the second I get off the plane.
"Gosh the weather is gorgeous" my father says to us as he runs over to me and my mother to catch up.
"Yes it is" I say whilst removing the red hoodie I had put on for the flight here.
Me and my parents go into the airport and collect our suitcases as they come through the doors. Once our entire luggage had been collected my father calls for a taxi and loads it with all our stuff before getting into the car himself and telling the driver the address of our new house.
Again I plug in my headphones to block out the world whilst we're driving to our new home. I love my music and won't go anywhere without it.
After a 20 minute drive we arrive at our new home and get out of the taxi with our suitcases. "Wow it's beautiful" my mother says to me before going to open the front door with my father.
"Yes it is" I reply with a smile on my face. I follow my parents inside and take a look around the house which has three bedrooms, a huge kitchen and sitting room and a big garden out the back with a pool that looks onto the sea.
"I love it so much" I say with a huge smile on my face.
Over the next week me and my family buy various items for our house that were too big to bring over from our old home in New York. My father builds up beds for each room, wardrobes, and chests of drawers and buys sofas for our sitting room.
Our house is starting to take shape and finally Im able to sort out my new room exactly the way I want it. I go upstairs and plug in my TV and CD player exactly where I want them and fill my shelves with my favourite books and DVDs that I packed to bring with me.
I stick up posters of all my favourite film stars and singers that I had in my old room and place picture frames containing pictures of me and my friends around the room so I will never forget them.
"Perfect" I think to myself whilst smiling.
As I start to unpack my clothes and hang them up in my new wardrobe I hear a knock at the door. "I'll get it" my mother shouts up the stairs.
I sit at the top of the stairs and look towards the front door to see who exactly it is knocking on our door when we don't actually know anyone yet.
My mother opens the front door and invites a man who looks not much older than me into the sitting room.
I move further down the stairs to get a closer look. This man standing in our sitting room is wearing blue jeans, a cap, brown shoes and what I think is a Saints football top.
He turns his back to me and I read the back of his top which has the name "CONNICK" written on it.
I stay sitting on the stairs for a little while and listen into the conversation and I find out that he is the son of my dad's new boss and has been sent to collect some paper work for his father.
I listen to his accent and try to figure out what it is. "Ive got it" I think to Myself. "He's from Lousiana" I think with a smile on my face.
My dad hands the man some paperwork before he says goodbye and leaves. My mother looks up and notices me sitting on the stairs.
"Spying on him were we?" my mother says to me. "DEFINATLEY NOT" I demand to her before racing upstairs and slamming my door.
I stand there with my back against my door and think about this mysterious man in our sitting room and can't help but smile at the thought of him.
I go back to hanging up my clothes and try to forget about him but it proves too difficult so I stand smiling like a kid in a candy store hoping no one will come into my room.
