Part 9

"He could be at the new ice-cream vendor at the shopping mall! Hey Len quit playing with his Gundams and let's go!"

"Ah just wait a little bit I'm putting them back- Huh?! GYAAAA!!!"

You turned around to see Len running straight for you, with a cockroach flying right behind him. You screamed in horror.

"KYAAAAAAA!!!!!"

You backed off and fell backwards onto the sofa. Len who was still screaming his head off followed from behind and fell right on top of you. The cockroach flew around the room twice before exiting through the open door. Outside, you could hear Rin screaming down the stairs. However, you were too preoccupied with what's in front of you. Or rather, what was on you.

Len's hands were on couch and on the left and right sides of your head. His eyes the color of lapis lazulis stared straight into yours, almost not blinking. You could hear his soft breathing and feel his breath on your lips. Your cheeks flushed a scarlet red.

"L-L-Len you're too close...."

"E-Eh? Ah oh um I'm really sorry...."

He pulled back quickly and you got of the couch, trying to catch your breath. You didn't know why, but Len looked really... different... somehow.

"Y-You alright (Y/N)?"

"Yeah..."

You shook yourself out of it, coughed a little and nodded once.

"C'mon, we've got to look for Kaito."

"Yeah..."

Half an hour later, both of you reached the shopping mall. You had to remind yourself that you were looking for Kaito and not here for fun. While you were spacing out, you bumped right into Mikuo.

"Aiya watch where you're going... Oh (Y/N)? Fancy meeting you here! And hey Len."

"Hey."

Mikuo pulled you up but he didn't let go of your hand. Without warning, he kissed the top of your hand gently. This shocked Len way more than you did.

"Oi?! Mikuo what are you doing to (Y/N)?!"

Mikuo gave his signature charming smile and taking up a lock of your hair, he spoke.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself when I see how beautiful you are (Y/N)."

A vein popped in Len's forehead. With a sour look, he stepped in between you and Mikuo.

"Now listen here you freaking playboy, you stay away from (Y/N) okay?! C'mon (Y/N) we're leaving!"

With that, he took your hand and stormed out of the place. You waved meekly at Mikuo let Len fume in anger for a while before speaking again.

"So um Len, we're not looking for Kaito?"

"It's a weekday, Kaito's probably not here. Let's go to the cafe."

You kept your silence and let him lead the way. For some reason, you felt happy instead at Len's rudeness towards Mikuo. It made you feel a little special.
