" They came from above the starry night and landed on our lands as bright lights. Curious and frightened, we checked where the bright lights had landed from afar. That was when we met them, they were small. All of them were small, just like you. We could not understand each other due to the unknown language they speak of. Their features were different. Flimsy arms, skin not blue, no stripes, and eyes not green or yellow but black, brown, and ocean blue. Despite their size, they make up with their intelligence."
"We had thought them our language and traditions and in return, they had thought us theirs. Everything started off well between the sky people and our clan. That was until---" she pauses which made the younger kids in her care, huddle closer. Their eyes were filled with curiosity and wonder about what had happened. Meanwhile, the older kids sat at the back, already knowing the whole story of how the sky people flew and landed on their lands.
" They start to cut and destroy the nature of the forest." Her eyes enlargened as she started showing her claws to everyone, reenacting the unforgetful scenes she had witnessed during those times.
The younger children all gasped in horror as they heard this. This, however, made Miralei frown in her seat as she sat next to the older kids.
It was her first time not sitting beside Etch. She was absent due to her having her first warrior training, together with her father.
"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you, Mira!" she sparks, her eyes lit up in excitement.
" What is it?" she says, curiously.
Her smile widens, showing her small fangs.
" My first warrior training starts tomorrow. And guess what? I'll be trained under Toruk Makto's care!" she happily says in glee.
To say that she was not surprised was a big understatement.
Her father.
The notorious savior of the clan was going to be the one training the older kids.
'Goddamit.' she curses.
'I wish I was old enough to train too...' she pouts, huffing.
A hand immediately raised out of the visible crowd of children in front. This made her curious as she watched them stand up. Once they did so, she notices who the child was. Etch had introduced her to him when she first attended the Tsahik's sessions.
It was her brother, Kotiff.
" So its twue that skwy people are bunch of plunderers then. Their land not having enough life and now they tried to take ours away and make it theirs."
The words that came from his mouth were true and she could agree with most of them. The humans had destroyed almost half of the forest leading a lot of clans to find it difficult to search for a place to live and start over.
" Toruk Makto didn't take our lands but instead ruled them. He did save our people but he was also a plunderer. He dwestroyed our Vitraya Ramunong and killed the people we care for. Why do we even follow a leader who is a traitor and not even a pureblood Na'vi? "
Her eyes widened and she quickly stood from her spot. All eyes were on her and Kotiff, as they couldn't help but be surprised. Even her grandmother was stunned by what he had just said. Knowing her well, she knew that she was also shocked at the words coming out of Kotiff.
It was not the fond words that a child was supposed to know at such a young age.
" Excuse me?!"
As she said that, she fumes. Slight anger rose inside her as she was outraged at Kotiff's disrespect towards her father.
