A cool breeze blew softly and big brown eyes looked at the full moon in a daze. Those eyes showed worry which was hidden deep within, coming to his senses Abhi once again looked at his phone, his sister had not called him the whole day.
This was unusual the two talked all the time, even when they were continents apart. He clenched his fists as he closed his eyes trying to see where she was but something was blocking his vision. He opened his eyes and held his heart he felt faint and the throbbing ache on his head became worse.
" Zahi can you hear me? please call me I'm worried," he said to no one but still he hoped for a reply, before he could worry even further his phone rang.
He picked it up quickly " hello Zahi?" the voice on the other end of the phone murmured words he could not comprehend for a moment.
" Zahi?" he asked again and this time the clear voice of his sister spoke back to him. "Hey, Abhi I was a bit busy sorry I did not call you the whole day " her voice sounded natural enough but he knew her very well something was not correct.
" Are you okay?" he asked worried, " I'm fine just a bit tired acting is not that easy you know " she tried to joke but her eyes were facing a certain direction and she felt guilt well up inside of her.
"So how are you?" she asked him making him sigh, " I'm worried about you and you know how I get when that happens " this made Zahira look down even more guilty.
" Don't worry about me just enjoy yourself in the Patel household for now" Abhi kept quiet for a moment before he spoke, " why did you block me" Zahira's heart quickened hearing those words.
" I told you I was busy don't worry about it " Abhi felt his head ache, even more, when she uttered those words " lies, all you're uttering is a bunch of lies," he said calmly while staring at the moon once again.
" Tell me the truth, please" Zahira silenced for a moment before she spoke again. "That was the truth" with that she hung up making Abhi hold his aching head lightly he knew she was lying.
The question was why? he closed his eyes and tried to connect with her again but it did not work. He slid down and just sat there on the balcony where he fell asleep without realising.
After he dozed off Aayush appeared and looked at his little wife. He could see the worry that plagued his wife by the wrinkle that was prominent on his wife's forehead.
He picked his wife up and just like that the night passed. Early the next morning Abhi woke up early, he freshened up and went downstairs he bumped into one of his sisters-in-law, the woman went by the name of Sita.
She had a prideful look on her face as if she had won something, "mother requested that you clean the mansion" her tone was mocking making Abhi who was not in the mood sneer.
"Tell your mother I'm busy" with that he walked away without saying a word he needed to go somewhere to rest his mind. How can he have time to quarrel with his mother in law with a pressing issue on his back.
He drove an hour to a small house far in the woods, there stood a cottage with beautiful flowers around it. He walked up to the cottage and entered without knocking, there was no one within but he still felt a presence around him.
"Can you tell me?" he asked softly but the only answer he got was the twinkling sound of a soft bell. "She won't tell me" he pressed trying to stay calm.
The bell made a sound again making him grit his teeth he knew he would not receive an answer from the presence in the room so he walked out that's when his phone rang.
" Where are you?" the man sounded upset yet concerned. " Darling calm down I'm on m way home, I just had something to take care of " Aayush looked at the paperwork in front of him and debated going back home.
" Don't stress yourself I'm fine I need to go and help out at home anyway see you after work okay " Aayush was silent for a moment then spoke. " Alright Dandelion " the nickname once again made Abhi red as a ripe fruit yet a soft smile could be spotted on his lips.
He drove home in a good mood only for it to be spoiled as soon as he entered the mansion.
" There she is mother! ask her where she came from, she did not help with the house chores today ".
Abhi's gaze collided with his mother in law's glaring one and he knew it was about to go down.
