Time seemed to pass slowly and the pressure from their disconnection kept increasing but he did not wince nor shout out in pain.
He was strong he could take it ...he could take the pain even though he felt the cracks he still tried to mend them.
He was never one to give up, the burden was heavy but he could carry it.
At a certain restaurant, two women sat alone chatting happily. "So how is your new daughter-in-law?" one of the women asked. "Please don't remind me of that witch, she can't do anything correctly at all" the woman frowned.
"Sana don't you think your son would like your choice better" the woman convinced with a small smile on her face.
"I tried but he won't even meet her " she replied in displeasure the other woman smiled once again. "Sana my dear make him like her, get her to that mansion I'm sure the young woman can do the rest, "Sana thought about it.
Her friend seemed reasonable so she nodded and took out her phone to send a text. Looking at her actions the other woman's lips lifted into an even more visible arch.
That was why Abhi was standing in front of a young woman about his age with innocent eyes. She looked like a gentle woman who could do no wrong he looked at his mother-in-law and had the urge to snort.
The woman was really cunning she really would do anything to drive him out of her son's life. He looked at his husband who looked like he was just a bystander in someone else's story.
"Son meet Mila she's a very good girl, gentle and domestic" Aayush raised his brow at that and just turned to his wife and kissed his cheek.
"I'm going to the office Dandelion have a lovely day" Abhi's cheeks became inflamed and his heart fluttered "you too darling," he said as Aayush walked away.
The two women looked like they had swallowed a fly it was quite amusing to Abhi. He walked to the back garden and with his quick vision he spotted the family's grandma.
He walked slowly to her his brown hair fluttering in the wind he looked lovely in his blue net saree.
The elder woman was just relaxing drinking a sweet cup of tea, she enjoyed such moments a lot since everyone in the Patel household was forever busy.
"Grandma" Abhi called softly and bend to touch her feet asking for her blessing the elder woman turned to him with a sweet smile on her face.
"Hello young one how are you?" she questioned while gesturing for him to take a sit at her table.
Abhi did as told and the two looked at one another silently for a moment before the elder woman spoke. "What troubles you young one?" she asked gently.
Her eyes held wisdom that could not be ignored. "Grandma I'll be okay," he said instead of replying to the question asked.
"The pressure on you can be shared " she spoke looking up at the sky "you are strong but sometimes even the strongest person requires help" Abhi looked at her.
"My problem cannon be understood by normal mortals" Grandma smiled at that "then find a mortal who can" with those words his phone rang.
"Hello Darling, any problem?" he asked wondering why Aayush called him. "Do I only need to call you when there's a problem Dandelion?" he asked the smile on his face grew broader.
"Alright then tell me" Abhi smiled as well not noticing how gentle his eyes became when he spoke to his husband. One person noticed though and it was Grandma.
She sipped her tea as she looked at the young one in front of her, she noticed how he touched his head as if in pain then put on a smile to be strong again.
"Why is everything not as I expected? No, he was meant to be mine, and I can get him back" Mila said smiling to herself.
"Mila dear are you okay?" Sana asked worriedly making the young woman turn to her. "I'm alright mother do you want some tea?" she asked virtuously making Sana happy, this was the type of daughter-in-law she wanted.
The type that was under her control.
"Why are you doing this again?" Zahira asked angrily her eyes filled with a certain vapor that seemed to want to flow out at any moment.
"I did not do anything you are misunderstanding me I care for you alone you know" the man replied looking at the woman who held a piece of broken glass in her hand.
Some blood seemed to flow out but she did not seem to feel it. She was angry and he knew he had to coax her after all she was his most important chess piece.
The most precious of them all.
