Jeremiah's pov
Y/n left and went inside with Nichole and Conrad. I don't blame her for choosing Conrad. Every girl would. Even our dad loves him more than me even though I am closer to our father. I heard the front door open and a second after, it closed. I tried not to pay attention to my brother and my best friend but it was hard. As I looked up at Conrad's window I saw them inside his room. They were smiling and laughing. Suddenly, her jaw dropped and she immediately hugged Conrad. I wonder what he did to make her so happy. She kissed him on the cheek. But is he with Nichole or Y/n? God! It's so complicated.
Y/n's Pov
We went up to Conrad's room and he gave me a small box. As I opened the box, I saw the bracelet I have been wanting for a few weeks.
" Thank you so much, Connie." I said before hugging him. We sat on his bed and we both sighed.
" So what's going on between you and Jeremiah?" He asked me.
" I don't know. He's kinda weird. One day he's all over me and then when I mention you he's acting like he doesn't care about me."
And it was true. Every time I would mention Conrad's name, his mood would change. He would start ignoring me and there would be an uncomfortable silence.
" Maybe it's because dad won't come for the fourth of July. You know how much he loves our dad." Conrad said. In contrast with Jeremiah, the other Fisher boy was happy that their father wouldn't come. He thought that he was selfish, egocentric, and a hypocrite. So, he wasn't really excited to see his dad.
" Most likely. How do you feel about it?" I asked him.
" I think that's for the best. He just makes things worse." I just nodded at his statement. It was true. Our fathers were just here. They wouldn't participate in family activities at all. So it wasn't a big difference that they won't come.
After a while, we realized that we had to get ready for dinner. I quickly took a shower and then started to get changed. I had chosen two dresses and I couldn't know which one should I wear.
" The light blue or the floral one?" I asked Belly and Taylor. Belly had already worn a floral dress while Taylor had chosen a hot pink one.
" I think you should wear the blue one. It matches Jeremiah's eyes." Taylor said and they both started laughing.
" Funny to say that while before you were flirting with him." I was clearly annoyed at Taylor. Even though I haven't told her I liked him, she had a feeling that I did. However, she still couldn't resist flirting with him. I left the room and went to ask Susannah's opinion.
" So, Susannah. Which one should I wear?"
" The blue one. I think it fits you better." She answered. She has brilliant taste in clothes, but most of the time it is not to my liking.
" Thanks." I said while hugging her.
After I got changed it was almost dinner time. I put on my flower crown and I went downstairs. All were already downstairs. Belly sat in the middle of the left side, between Cam and Taylor. Meanwhile, I sat on the other side with the boys, while the moms sat on the edges of the table.
" So, Cameron. Belly told me that you are vegetarian, so I didn't put any meat." Mom said.
" Thank you a lot, miss Park." Cameron said with a genuine smile.
" Why don't you eat meat, Cam Cameron?" Steven asked.
" The meat industry is the number one contributor to global warming. And I just like animals." Cam said.
" You know, Cameron. Our little Belly button eats meat." Jeremiah said.
" I know. I don't judge people about that. It's a personal choice." Cameron explained to the boys.
" So, you let her kiss you with those lips?" Steven said.
" So, you don't mind if her lips touch a dead animal, and then those dead animal lips touch your lips?" Jeremiah continued. I kicked his foot. They were trying to make Belly look like a fool.
" No. Actually...." And then Cam grabbed her face and kissed her.
" Aw. This is so cute." I said. I admire the fact that Cameron was trying to defend Belly.
" Do you want a kiss too?" Jeremiah asked.
" From you? I would rather die." I said kinda sarcastically. Of course, I did but I couldn't tell him that in front of our families. Then, he mumbled something. Something like " yeah from someone else ". But I didn't really understand what, exactly.
And then they were trying to embarrass Belly again. Conrad and I were per usual in our own little world. While the others were just listening to what Jeremiah and Steven told.
" I think we should go to Nichole's party now." Taylor said. I was still mad at her for flirting with Jere, even though she knows we have something going on.
