Xiao sat on top of Wangshu Inn, spear in hand, and looking into the distance. How did this happen? Why was he here, and why didn't he feel anguish for the first time in a while? He looked down, to the sight of a bard, playing the dihua flute. despite he himself not interested in music of the sorts, this song made him feel...calm, and at peace. He yearned for this song, needed this song. all of his worries had faded away in that moment.
The bard turned over to him, and smiled. Xiao was stunned.
He shot his eyes back open, and looked around. It was morning. Looking at the spot where the bard stood, and lowered his eye lids.
it was only a dream.
3rd person POV
"Oh archons.. Not that dream again.." Xiao said out loud to himself. He got up, and dispelled his Spear, jumping down from the rooftop, to greet Verr Goldet. He was instead, greeted by the sight of the traveler and paimon.
"Xiao! Traveler said he wanted to take you on exploration, do you want to go with us? we can go to Lantern Rite later! out treat!" Paimon boasted. "You mean My treat. I'm paying for everything, not you." Traveler snapped back at Paimon in a joking manor. Xiao looked at the two before sighing. He needed a break, and he knew that himself. However, his karma gained would be holding him back. "I am not interested in lantern rite, that's for mere humans. Not opened to the likes of me. However, I will aid you in your exploration." He lightly stared at the two, before the Traveler nodded. "Alright then, Xiao! Let's head out!" Paimon smiled, as she started following them. Xiao started to follow along.
After a bit of exploring Mt Hulao, they three decided to head back to the inn. Not to mention to encounter with a group of hilichurls who were too busy dancing around as if they were ready to make a sacrifice, and the group of bandits that always resided within the heart of the mountain, everything went exceptionally well. The group greets Verr Goldet, and walk their way up to the top of the inn. "Thanks Xiao! That was really fun, and we found lots of stuff!" The traveler smiled at Xiao. Paimon agreed. "I will be here when you call, traveler." Xiao sheepishly mumbled. He hasn't been feeling right all day, and he felt sick to his stomach. Before Paimon could utter another word of thanks to him, off he was. Teleporting somewhere he wouldn't be found. He summoned his spear to help him stand, trying desperately not to collapse right then and there.
Is this it? Am I gonna—.

."Xiao! Xiao! Hey! Listen to me, are you alright?"
Xiao shot his eyes open, to see Venti staring down at him from above.
"W—where am I?" Xiao questioned, sitting up, and looking around.
He was in Mondstat.
"Ehe! I couldn't just leave you on the ground! You're lucky I was somewhere near you, otherwise who knows what could have happened!" Venti smiled, a bright and reassuring smile. Xiao began to calm down.
"I don't need help from the likes of you bard." He harshly spoke.
"Oh how hurt I am! What a shame, to be called a simple bard by the likes of you!" Venti shot back, causing Xiao to go silent.Venti looked down at Xiao. The adeptus looked weary, and out of energy.
Venti took it upon himself to sit next to him and hug him.
"Wha—?" Xiao mouthed, confused.
"Don't worry, Xiao. You can take a rest here for a bit. I'll keep you safe."
Venti smiled again. Looking at Xiao for a few moments. Not a minute later, Xiao was pressed up against Venti, practically laying in him. It was comforting to the young adeptus.
Suddenly, the pain went away.Xiao felt at peace for a second time.
