Vada Pov.
I woke up with my arms still wrapped around Mia, who was sleeping. I figured that I probably needed to check my phone because I hadn't been home for a while. Of course, I told my parents I'd be staying the night at Mia's for a night or two, I didn't want them to worry like last time.
I rolled over and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. I saw a text message from my mom, the message read,
"Come home Vada we miss you, and we plan to go out to lunch with you today."
I groaned at this reply, but I missed them too. I slowly rolled out of bed and I gathered my things to call an uber home.
I waited on Mia's porch for the Uber as I figured I needed a breath of fresh air. I recalled the memories of last night, and I smiled while thinking. Mia was so beautiful, it was way more enjoyable when we were both sober this time. I noticed the Uber arrived and I got in.
I texted my family group chat that I was on my way home while I put in my AirPods to listen to music.
I arrived home finally and I opened the door to see my sister waiting there like a puppy dog.
"You're home!!! I missed you so much, Vada!" Amelia said as she ran up to me and hugged me.
"I missed you so much too Millie." I picked her up and walked to the kitchen to see my dad and mom waiting.
"Oh, hello, honey we missed you so much!" My mom said, clapping her hands together once.
My father said the same and I set Amelia down to give my mom a hug.
"So honey, you might wanna get ready because we're leaving for lunch in 30 minutes," said my mom looking at me with a slightly disgusted stare. I rolled my eyes and nodded as I walked to my room. I stripped down and I walked to the shower.
I finished my shower and I sloppily dried my body and threw on an oversized tee and some basketball shorts.
I walked out of my room and I met my family who was waiting for me.
"C'mon let's go! I'm starving,"Amelia complained.
And with that, we headed to the car.
We arrived at the restaurant when the thought hit me, Mia hasn't texted me at all today. Pain struck my stomach shd slight worry entered me. I decided to shake it off so I could enjoy lunch with my family. As we sat down at the table my mom started to speak,
"So Vada, I'm just gonna get straight to the point."
I raised an eyebrow at my mom and I told her to go on.
"We're all wondering if this Mia girl is your girlfriend. I- I mean you seem to talk to her a lot and you're always with her and I mean after what you told me that one day I just-"
"MOM JESUS CAN WE NOT BRING UP THAT CONVERSATION?" I interrupted.
"Oh yes of course sorry honey, but do you see where we're coming from?"
I took a deep breath and I had to decide what to do. Do I deny it all, or tell them the truth of the matter? I decided that I had been hiding too much from them so I should just get it over with.
I sighed deeply and said,
"Yes she's my girlfriend, well, not officially but we're getting there. But I do love her a lot and she loves me. I trust her with everything and I feel safe with her..."
I looked around at my family who looked at me shocked.
"Please say something!!"
"So sorry Vada we just weren't exactly expecting you to pour your heart out to us," My dad said.
"I just wanted to say that I knew this from the start. I could just tell Vada was gay," Amelia said, smiling.
My mom gave my sister a look and then she started to speak up,
"We all support you Vada."
My dad and sister nodded and I started to tear up a little bit.
"Thank you guys, I love you."
After lunch, I got a text from Mia. I opened it and my stomach dropped.
The message read,
"Come over when you can. We need to talk."
