Luna:

... a few minutes earlier ...

Luna doesn't know why she was following the human. Why would someone as strong as she be saving a weak human? When she first saw the human down there on the street with the constructs, she could hardly take her eyes off him.

The human would perhaps be an addition to Ascnet, she had said to herself at first. But Ascnet had not ordered her to follow the human. She had done it anyway.

Now the human lies lifeless at her feet. The armor of the human is full of mud and his clothes are soaked. It is hard to believe that this human survived an encounter with her sister once. But without the constructs, the Commandant of Gray Raven poses no threat to her.

She rummages through the pockets on the human's clothing. Inside she finds some rations sealed in plastic, a water bottle, serum and a flashlight with spare batteries. These things are of no further interest and she stows them back in their place. She takes the pistol and the knife attached to the commander's belt and throws them into the river. Then she gently removes the comm device from the human's ear.

"You are mine alone now. Your friends won't find you like this." she murmurs and throws the comm into the river as well.

Luna is pleased. So far, everything is going perfectly. Now all that's left is for the commandant to wake up. A few minutes pass, but the human still doesn't move. She is not sure if she pulled him out of the water in time. Now, in hindsight, she is annoyed. She shouldn't have hesitated so long. The man had been washed away in the water far away from the city.

She begins to worry. When she checks, she realizes that the commandant is still breathing. She sighs with relief. But slowly she becomes impatient. She begins to poke the commandant.

"Wake up already! Hey! Come on!" she calls and slowly but surely her words seem to have an effect. The human's eyelids flutter and he slowly seems to gain consciousness.

... now...

The Commandant asks her too many unpleasant questions. Luna tells one lie after another. Fortunately, she has learned some things about Babylonia from her sister. She believes that the human will buy her story. Still, she worries that at some point she will be asked a question she can't answer.

A distraction will be necessary. She focuses on her surroundings. Luna can sense that the virus concentration in the area is weak. That's good for the Commandant, but it makes her weaker than usual. Finally she finds what she was looking for. Not far from her are a couple of corrupted. They are still inactive, but a small dose of the virus is enough to wake them up. Luna calls the robots to her.

If she protects the Commandant from the robots, he will surely trust her. She can't use the powers she gained from the Punishing Virus. Luna plans to put on a good show for the Commandant. Fortunately, she has often watched Roland use his acting skills. Her performance is meant to be a good show for the Commandant.

"All right, but how do we get to the city? I don't have a GPS anymore without my comm." says the Commandant.

" Not a problem, I know which way to go. Follow me." replies Luna and floats ahead. She's quite fast and the commander has trouble keeping up. Just the way Luna wants it. Because as long as the Commandant is busy catching his breath, Luna doesn't have to deal with any more questions. She has planned her route exactly. There are a few detours and in a few minutes they will also meet the corrupted.

... Commandant ...

You've been walking, or rather jogging, alongside Luna for some time now. Apparently she is in a hurry to get rid of you. You think it's a shame, because you'd like to learn more about her, but at the same time you know it's better that way. You'll probably never see each other again when you're back with your team. Besides, it's not safe out here. There could be corrupted lurking everywhere, and without your equipment you have no way of tracking movement in your surroundings or measuring the concentration of the Punishing Virus.
