"𝑰'm telling you this is a terrible idea." Missy huffed.
All 5 girls were strewn around Hailey's bedroom, helping her get ready to meet Johnny's friends. It was about a week after she kept his jacket and Johnny had finally asked her to come over and meet them.
She wasn't sure what to wear, so she invited Eliza over to help. Eliza wasn't sure either so they invited all of the girls to help.
Missy wasn't exactly thrilled that Hailey was going to the east side and that she was growing closer with Johnny, but Hailey was her friend so she kept her mouth shut—more or less.
"You think everything's a bad idea." Hailey snickered.
"Make sure to spray your perfume on the jacket, so it'll smell like you." Marcia said once Hailey took it out of the dryer. "Right. I've gotta spray my perfume on it." She repeated to herself. She sat at her vanity and tried her best to make her curls look decent.
"Hey, what hairstyle do you think says: 'I'm pretty but I'm not trying to look pretty, it's just natural'?" She asked as she turned to face her friends.
"Hair down. Two front pieces out. Cute bandanna on top." Missy lamely says from the bed, a magazine covering her face.
Hailey sent her a grateful nod—although she wasn't sure if Missy saw it—and started on her hair.
About an hour later Cherry had dropped Hailey off and the girl found herself standing on the front porch of the house belonging to Ponyboy Curtis.
She hesitantly stepped forward and rapped her knuckles against the door. She stepped back as the door swung open revealing Johnny.
"Hi," she said, nervously playing with the sleeves of her jacket.
"Hi." Johnny smiled.
Johnny took a deep breath before speaking again. "I should warn you. My friends can be a bit much," he started.
"They're not dangerous or anything, are they?" Hailey asked, chewing her lip nervously.
"Oh, well not all of them..."
Hailey's eyes practically widened and Johnny chuckled at her nervousness—he thought it was kinda cute. She plastered a smile on her face and said, "I think I'm ready anyway,"
Johnny nodded and stepped inside, allowing her in.
When she entered the home, she saw the amount of people seated around the living room. She silently named the people that she recognized while trying to ignore her festering nerves.
