Tanjiro, Nezuko, and I decided to head back to Urokodaki's house, it had been a while since when we last got a chance to visit him. It took us a few nights stopping in towns along the way but we eventually were able to make it to his house. I knocked on the door, and Urokodaki barely took any time to open it. "Hello again, my friends," he said as he led us inside. Tanjiro and Nezuko both greeted him before they went off to what had become their room so they could rest up from the trip. Urokodaki led me into the main room and we sat down to talk. "So, how have things been? I've been receiving your messages; however, I believe there are quite a few details that you left out." Urokodaki inquired after we had sat down.

"Where to even start," I said with a sigh, so much had happened since we had last seen him. "I guess I'll start with the biggest event: the mission on Mt. Natagumo." "Ah, yes I remember that letter. That was how the Master assessed them, correct?" Urokodaki clarified with me. "Yes, directly after the meeting the Master gave us the mission. I believe in the letter I mentioned Lower Rank 5 was present on the mountain," Urokodaki nodded and I continued, "Well, the siblings had gotten lost from me and had run into him. When I finally found them, it was hard to say how long they had been there but, they had put up a good fight. Neither was fatally injured when I arrived." Urokodaki seemed to smile; though you can never truly tell with that mask of his.

"I'm glad they are making progress in their fighting skills." Urokodaki praised them. I continued to recount the events about that mountain to Urokodaki, purposely avoiding mentioning that I tied up a kid. We continued talking for a while and Urokodaki fixed me lunch before sending me off to a separate room to rest up.

I took a short nap however I was not that tired. I was more emotionally tired than anything. I had been interacting with the other Hashiras a lot because of Tanjiro and Nezuko. After staring at the ceiling trying to decide whether or not to truly get up for a few minutes, I left the room Urokodaki provided and went out to meet him.

To no shock, Tanjiro was awake and talking very excitedly to Urokodaki. I assumed that Nezuko was still sleeping in the other room. Tanjiro turned as I came into the room, "Tomioka-san you're awake!" I gave Tanjiro a slight smile and turned to Urokodaki, "Shall I go now or would you like me to wait?" Tanjiro looked at me and Urokodaki quizically, "Where are you going?" Urokodaki answered for me, "He's going to the village to buy some ingredients for me, and yes I think now would be a perfect time. Please do make it back before dinner." I internally rolled my eyes, Urokodaki knew as well as I did that it would not take me that long to get ingredients from the village

As I was walking back up from the village it started snowing. It did not take long for the snow to start covering the ground. The snow accompanied by the sun's setting rays made the forest into a whimsical scene. However, I had no time to bask in the scenery, I had to get back to Urokodaki's house.

When I finally arrived back snowflakes were dotted in my hair and on my clothes. I knocked on the door so someone could open it for me. Urokodaki answered the door and quickly took the ingredients from me to go start dinner. I let Urokodaki do his thing and went into the main room.

Tanjiro and Nezuko were both awake and chatting with each other. They both turned their heads to me when I entered. At the sight of the snow on me, their eyes lit up. "Is it snowing outside?!" Tanjiro asked although he already knew the answer. I nodded and Tanjiro turned to Nezuko, "It's been so long since we've been out in the snow!" She nodded eagerly and turned to me, a bright light shining in her eyes, "Tomioka-san can we go outside in the snow?"

"Yes, though we must wait a bit longer until it is fully night." Both Nezuko and Tanjiro were overjoyed with my answer. I believed the snow must have reminded them of their home. I was glad that they were able to find something of comfort.

I went over to where Urokodaki was, "I thought it'd be best to let you know that Tanjiro, Nezuko, and I will be going out in the snow once the sun sets." "Thank you for letting me know, I will have a nice warm soup prepared for when you get back inside," Urokodaki responded kindly. I thanked him and headed back to spend some time with the siblings before the sunset.

—————————

Before we left I made sure to put on an extra thick outer layer to not get too cold. Tanjiro and Nezuko did not seem to need such layers as they did not feel the cold as much. We let Urokodaki know that we were leaving and then we went out into the snowy night. Immediately upon leaving the door both Tanjiro and Nezuko ran out into the snow. They reminded me of puppies who were seeing the outside world for the first time.

"Tomioka-san look at how the moonlight makes the snow look so much prettier!" Nezuko exclaimed with glee. "Yes, it is quite beautiful," I responded looking around. It was surprising how much snow had settled on the ground in such a short amount of time, when I was walking up the mountain the snow seemed to be very thin. It must have picked up rather quickly after I entered Urokodaki's house. I leaned against the house and watched Tanjiro and Nezuko as they played around in the snow.

After running around in the snow, they got to work on what I assumed would become a snowman. They both started to make small snowballs and were packing snow to make them larger. It didn't take long for them to create the base and torso for the snowman. They quickly built a head and stepped back to admire their work. Tanjiro turned to me with a giant smile on his face, "Tomioka-san, Look! We built a snowman!!" I gave a brief smile and responded, "It looks lovely you two."

Nezuko then chimed in, "We still need to give it a face and some arms! Come on let's go look for some stuff." Tanjiro nodded and they started walking around to try and find anything they could use to make a face for the snowman. While they were turned away I bent down and picked up some snow and compacted it in my hand.

Making sure neither of the siblings were looking at me, I threw a snowball at Tanjiro. He immediately turned around to face me, however, I had gone back to leaning on the wall. Tanjiro looked at Nezuko and then at me and then back to Nezuko. It seemed he was trying to decide who threw the snowball. He settled on Nezuko and threw one at her.

Nezuko turned to look at Tanjiro and threw one back at him. Before I knew it a snowball fight broke out between the two. I made another snowball and threw it at Nezuko this time. She must have thought it was just another one from her brother because she didn't even stop to turn.

I kept this up throwing snowballs at them occasionally trying to see how long it took for them to notice it. When I finally threw one at Nezuko's back she realized, "Hey! Tomioka-san's throwing snowballs at us! Target him!" Tanjiro and Nezuko turned to face me together with mischievous grins on their faces.

Before I could move they started throwing snowballs at me. However, I was able to dodge all of their attacks. "Not fair! He's too good at dodging!" Tanjiro complained Nezuko huffed in agreement. Even with the realization they kept up their attacks. I was surprised at how fast they were able to throw the snowballs.

A few minutes later, I was able to hide behind a tree and create a few snowballs of my own. "Tomioka-san you can't hide there forever!" Nezuko taunted me, it was very easy to hear the smile in her voice."I know."
I responded, getting ready to dart out and retaliate at them.

As soon as I left the cover of the tree I was immediately greeted with a bunch of snowballs. However, this time I was able to retaliate. I threw one at Tanjiro and he yelped, "Eek! He's got some too!" Nezuko nodded and got up in a defensive matter.

The snowball fight quickly became two-sided compared to earlier. I continued to circle them and threw snowballs occasionally until I ran out. I was looking for another opportunity to hide behind something when a snowball smacked me on my back. Nezuko cheered, "I got him! I did it!" She ran out from behind me and went over to Tanjiro, "Did you see that? I hit him! We did it!"

Tanjiro and Nezuko both shared very large smiles on their faces. They started jumping and skipping around cheering. Urokodaki came out of the house and surveyed the scene before him. "Well, it seems like the mighty Hashira has been defeated. Why don't you come in and rest from all the work that must have taken."

Tanjiro and Nezuko rushed over to Urokodaki and started telling him a glorified version of how they defeated me. I brushed the snow off of my back and followed them inside.
