"Study pages fifty to fifty-nine. You will be quizzed on it tomorrow before the test." Your homeroom teacher ordered as the class was dismissed.

"History bores the hell out of me. It happened years ago why do we need to know this?" Jason complained as you and he made your way over to the lockers.

"I think Mr. Johnson has it out for me. I didn't even get to walk through the door before he looked at me with pure disgust." You whined.

"On the bright side, we only have one more class before we can go home." Your friend said trying to cheer you up.

"One more class and then I can go home and either lay in bed, or go home and put up with a bunch of idiots." You complained as you reached your locker.

"Don't you have someone to snuggle up with now? I'm sure I've heard that correctly." Jason teased.

"That too. But I'm sure he also has work to do and I do everything after the stuff that isn't important." You sighed as you closed your locker.

"There's people I know thank god. I haven't seen you guys since lunch I was gonna lose my mind!" Chandler exclaimed as he made you jump a little bit. "Care to skip class with me?"

"Hell yeah man. I was thinking of just leaving early." Jason smiled.

"I have music class as my last class and I heard we're gonna be doing something completely different so I'll pass." You declined as the bell rang. "I'll hang out on the server tonight!"

And so you were, walking towards your final class of the day. It was actually a class since you looked forward to.

As you arrived you sat in the back of the class where you've always been. Somewhere to be mostly out of sight. Hopefully out of mind.

"Alright class listen up and listen good. We may be a few weeks into school but I'm already giving you a project that'll effect your grade." Mrs. Canmore announced.

It peaked your interest so your full attention then focused on her.

"Since we've established that you all play an instrument I put together this idea myself. Regardless on weather you're just learning or are experienced, find someone with an instrument completely different from your own. You have five minutes to find a partner."

So you sat there in your desk, waiting for someone to come along and ask you to be their partner instead of it being the other way around.

"Hey... what instrument do you play?"

It was a girl with purple hair and turquoise bangs. She looked pretty attractive in your opinion but that doesn't mean you were planning to leave Anthony for her.

"I play both electric and acoustic guitar... You?" You answered.

"Drums." She replied as she held her hand out. "Partners?"

"Fuck it. Partners." You said reaching your hand out to shake hers before you both pulled away. "So what's your name dear?"

"Kaede... and yours?"

"Y/N. Welcome to your new life in hell." You smirked. "So which guitar would you like to learn? The only difference is the chords."

"Electric would rock so much better with drums." Kaede giggled. "Have any notes I can look through while miss teacher over here explains the rest of the assignment?"

You opened a second notebook and flipped to a page filled with notes, chords and finger placement on the neck of the electric guitar. "Here you can sit next to me while you look over them."

"Thanks man. And here I thought everyone was just assholes who didn't want to do any work." She smiled as she sat next to you.

Eventually the five minutes came to an end and everyone was sitting somewhere. And you figured everybody went and sat across the room from where they were originally sitting.

"So now that you all have someone to do this assignment with, you have until your first term exams begin and your entire first term mark will depend on how successful your duo is." Mrs. Canmore finished.

"This class is dismissed. You have the rest of the period, and your future music periods to go wherever on school grounds to learn these new skills."

"Alright... I'm dragging you the other music room." Your project partner spoke as she stood up and taking you by the arm.

"Easy on the arms please." You said as you stood up taking your notebook with you.

Kaede giggled and led you to the room full over all kinds of instruments.

"Kay... so you might want to take notes so you can study them. I'll be getting you familiar with the drums." She explained as she sat you down on a stood in front of a set.

So what you did was draw a picture of the set of drum a before giving her the okay to continue.

"So these gold things are the Hi-hats, crash symbol and ride cymbal." She began as she pointed to each piece. Then waited for you to label them.

"Then you have the Hi-Tom, medium-tom, and this one in front of you is the Floor-Tom. Finally this other one is known as the snare and the one underneath it all is known as the bass drum."

You quickly wrote down the rest of what she washing before showing the diagram to her. "Like this?"

"You catch on quick pretty boy. Now try playing literally anything with these." Kaede smiled as she handed you drum sticks.

"What?! Not even going to give me something to base it off of?!" You asked.

"Just try. I'll give you feedback."
