______________

He grinned, watching the child grow weaker and weaker and begin to go blue in the face. Their eyes became bloodshot, and they slowly struggled less and less.

Y/N's vision began to go grey. The last thing they saw was Roy grinning at them like an unhinged animal before it all went black.

______________

Darkness encompassed all the child could see. It surrounded them, like a thick blanket. It was neither warm nor cold in this darkness. Y/N just seemed to merely exist here.

Y/N felt as though they were moving, yet there was nothing to say that they were. They felt wind brush up against their face, their skin, their clothes. They felt its force, as though they were a plastic bag blowing helplessly in the wind.

And then it stopped. And they opened their eyes.

They looked around the strange, new room they were in. They had never been here before. It was warm, welcoming, and smelled slightly of cinnamon. Looking around a bit more, the child spies someone new; a woman, sitting at a piano. She was playing a song that they'd never heard before, but it sounded nice. Then, without sparing a glance, the woman spoke.

"Hello, Y/N."

Y/N, sat on the floor, was puzzled.

"How do you know my name?" the child sheepishly asked.

The woman paused her piece, turning to face them, her hands gently fell to her lap.

"I have my ways, child. I see many things, yet I cannot do much to help or intervene."

Y/N shifts a bit, standing up. They do not move from their place, however. The woman gives a knowing glance, before beginning to speak again.

"I am Lesley. As I said before, I cannot intervene in that house very much, but I have seen much of what has happened recently."

Lesley paused, the almost artificial shine in her eyes seemed to dim, and she looked to the side a bit.

"You've been through a lot. No child should ever have to go through what you have. It's... traumatizing, to say the least. Was it not?"

Y/N nodded slightly, still standing where they'd woke up. Lesley gave a weak smile, turning to continue to play the piano.

As she played, Y/N crept closer, before they were sat nearby. There was still some distance, but it was close enough, in the child's eyes. They don't want to intrude more than they already may have.

The music Lesley played from the piano was soft, yet strong. Y/N listened to the foreign melody, and before they knew it, it was over again. The child glanced up to Lesley once more, a question of theirs was burning to be answered.

"Where are-" Y/N began, but Lesley already had an answer.

"They're patiently waiting for you in the house."

Lesley paused for a moment, seemingly in thought.

"They all really care about you. You are lucky in that sense." she said simply.

Y/N stood quietly, staring at their boots as though they were the most interesting things in the world. Lesley sighed and turned again to Y/N, catching the child's attention.

"Listen, child, I'm unsure of how much longer you will be here, so listen closely."

Y/N nodded quickly.

"I know what is going to happen. I've seen it time and time again. Do not feel you need to hold back."

"... what?"
