Lessons in Love

Y/N and Harry continued their lighthearted conversation as they went to find Robin and Doi. Meanwhile, Tony and Colin were left in the living room to stew in their own regret and guilt.

It's been a few days since the incident with Tony and Colin, and they've both apologized to the child many times since then. Each time, Y/N forgave them, but they didn't know how much longer the two would keep apologizing.

Y/N stepped carefully atop stones, trying to balance on the smaller ones. Doi was stood nearby, scouting the area for stones to stack. The two were outside the house, in the yard, bored as ever. Ideas were thrown around between the two before they decided to put a bunch of rocks into a stack and hope to keep them balanced. Making a throne of stone, if you will.

In Y/N's arms was a stuffed bear, which they'd made with Paige and Harry a few days prior, and they loved it to bits. They carried it everywhere, always careful to keep it clean and safe.

Y/N currently was guarding the good stones that Doi had found, making sure that they didn't fall from their stack.

"Hey, Y/N! I found another good one! It could be a base!"

"Awesome! Roll it over!"

Doi laughed a little as he rolled the stone through the grass. One side of the stone was coated in dirt from having sat on the ground for so long. The two carefully coordinated where it should go, and Doi gently pushed it over, the rock making a thump noise as it hit the earth.

"Cool! Should we start building, or do we keep looking?" Y/N asked.

"Hmm... let's keep looking! Maybe we can find some cool looking rocks!"

"Alright! Where were you looking before? Maybe we can keep looking there?"

"Over here, just past this tree!"

The two ran off, giggling, through the yard. They got to a new area of the forest surrounding the house.

"Woah! There's so many rocks here!" Y/N said, gazing upon the many stones that littered the forest floor.

"Look for ones that have weird shapes! Those could be decorations for the sides of the throne!"

"Got it!"

The children got to work, surveying the rocks, imagining what the final product could be and if each rock was worthy enough of being part of it. A few minutes pass and they each had selected a few rocks. One was big and had to be rolled, a few could be carried in their arms, and there were a couple small rocks that could easily be put in their pockets.

Once they'd figured out who would carry what, they started heading back to where they were before so they could build.

Along the way back, Y/N saw a bit of movement out of the corner of their eye. They turned around, facing behind them, only to see nothing.

"You okay, Y/N?" Doi asked, pausing to hold the biggest rock in place.

"Yeah," they responded. "I... thought I saw something."

"Huh... weird."

The two shrugged it off, eventually reaching their destination. They began to build the stone throne, when Doi suddenly turned, confusing Y/N.

"Uh, I thought I just saw something too..." Doi trailed off as he spoke.

Y/N and Doi shared an uneasy glance. They debated going inside to get Robin or Harry, but they really wanted to finish their little project.
