Sophie linked her arm with Bruce, and they headed to the bar. She didn't feel too overwhelmed, but she supposed that was down to Bruce. He had remained close, with his hand on her lower back. She would catch him smiling at her, and he would speak up, singing her praises.

She hadn't thought about everyone else being affected by the battle, and she felt that she needed to help. Even with what she offered, it wasn't enough. No amount of money or support could ever compare to the losses that people suffered.

'Are you alright?'... She turned her head, looking up at Bruce, seeing concern in his eyes. She ordered them both a drink, and once they had them, she gestured to the doors, leading to the garden.

'I'm fine. It's just..'.. She sighs, looking around the room... 'It's not enough. So many were lost or casualties of the battle. Homes, businesses so many lives affected. I feel like I should do more'

Bruce felt guilt seep through him. He was one of the causes of the damage, well, Hulk was. He sighed as they reached outside. They walked over to a quiet area and sat on a bench.

'What else can I do to help them?'... She asked, looking at him, her face scrunched up in thought.

Bruce took her free hand in his... 'It's our fault. I don't think we really thought about anything other than stopping Loki and the army'

She squeezed his hand, making him look at her... 'Hey, it's not your fault at all. If it wasn't for Loki, none of this would've happened. And if it wasn't for you and the others, the whole world would've suffered. Every battle has losses. You saved everyone else. Remember that you're a hero'

Bruce gave her a small smile as he sipped his drink. She kept a hold of his hand, feeling the warmth... 'Thank you for coming here with me. It hasn't been too bad. I don't think I would've gotten through this if it wasn't for you.'

He saw her eyes sparkle with a smile, feeling his chest get tight. With her hand in his, he felt such calm, peace... 'You would've done the same for me. You've been amazing and selfless. You've given so much tonight. And everyone seemed impressed with your work ethics'

Sophie chuckled, finishing her drink... 'Yeah, but don't tell Tony.  I don't want him thinking I'll do this all the time'

Bruce took her glass from her, placing them on the table close by... 'I think we should have a dance before we leave'... He stands, holding his hand out to her.

Sophie giggled, taking his hand and standing up too. She smoothed her dress down with her other hand, before they returned inside... 'We've only been here a short while, though I suppose I've done my part'

Bruce looked at her, shaking his head... 'Soph, we've been here 3 hours already'

She stopped suddenly, which caused him to jerk back. He looked and saw the stunned expression on her face... 'Are you serious? 3 hours? It hasn't felt that long'

Bruce chuckled, coming closer to her. His other hand came up cupping her face... 'You were enjoying yourself, and talking with people. I didn't want to interrupt. If you want to leave now, then we will'

Sophie thought it over. She did want to go home, but she also wanted to dance with Bruce. She bit her lip, thinking about him holding her close.

Bruce sucked in a breath, seeing her bite her lip... 'We're going home'... He turned, tugging on her hand and leading them through the gala. He quickly said their goodbyes, and they headed out the front.

Bruce shoot off a quick message to Happy, informing them that they wanted to return. Sophie giggled, seeing Bruce's behaviour.

He looked over to her, seeing her blush, her eyes shining as she giggled. He had no control over what he did next. He pulled her close, one hand around her waist, the other cupping the back of her head, as his lips claimed hers.

Neither one took notice of the reporters outside, all clamouring and their cameras flashing as they all tried to get a picture of the two kissing outside.

They both pulled back from one another, looking into each others eyes, as they caught their breaths. It took her a moment to realise that both of their names were being called, and she looked around, seeing the crowd that had now gathered.

Bruce felt her shrink back into him, hiding herself from the crowd. He cursed himself for what he did, tucking her in to his side... 'Soph..'.. He whispered in her ear... 'Count to 100 in Latin for me. We'll be back in the car before you finish'

Sophie nodded at him, taking a breath and focused on counting like he told her to. She felt him guide her through the crowd, down to the limo where Happy was waiting. Bruce made sure to stay between her and the crowd as they pushed forward, shouting out questions.

'Are you two dating?'...

'What's Hulk like in bed?'...

'Is he the reason you work at the tower?'...

'Are you another Avenger?'...

'Sophie, focus on counting..'.. Happy opened the door for her, and she slid in, with Bruce following. The door closed and she could still hear questions being called out.

She looked up, hearing Bruce chuckle. She frowned as she did breathing exercises. He saw her looking at him and gave her a smile... 'How's Hulk in bed? That's what they want to know?..'.. He shook his head... 'That's one of the most ridiculous questions I've ever heard'

Sophie couldn't stop the laugh escaping her. She thought about how that would go. Her poor body wouldn't be able to handle Hulk and she laughed even more. Bruce joined in, and she peeked to the front, seeing Happys bewildered look in the rear view mirror.

She lost it completely, leaning back as she let the laughter consume her. Tears began to form in her eyes, as Happy pressed the button, causing the divider to go up, cutting them off from him.

She covered her mouth with her hand, sniggering as she looked over to Bruce. She pressed her lips together trying to compose herself, dropping her hand... 'I think we annoyed Happy'

She saw Bruce look to the divider and then back to her. He held a hand out to her, and she shuffled to sit next to him. Bruce pulled her waist, so she was now sat across his lap.

Sophie felt him trace small circles on her back, causing her to shiver. A small moan escaped her, as she stared into his eyes... 'I don't think 10 minutes is enough time, but we can make the most of it'

She grabbed his shirt, and kissed him, as his hands slid up her back. The two of them pushed themselves, to see how far they could go, before they reached the tower.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The two of them stood in silence as they rode the elevator to their rooms. Both were flushed with desire, but knew they couldn't push too far. They stood across from each other, both had Cheshire grins plastered on their faces.

'Honestly, tonight went better than I expected. I really do appreciate you being with me Bruce'... Sophie smiled across at him.

'Be ready tomorrow lunch time, we got our date, and pack an overnight bag'... He smiled at her, knowing she had no idea what he had planned.

Sophie gave him a curious look, but shook her head... 'Do I at least get to know where we're going?'

Bruce gave her a smirk, as he exited out onto his floor, leaving her in the elevator. Sophie sighed, feeling completely smitten with him. She was excited to spend some time away with him, away from the tower.
