Within 6 hours, there was a glass cell for her, ready. It was at a place called the Triskillion, in D.C. Thankfully, they had gone to the garage under the tower, and gotten into an SUV, to take them to a private airfield, where a jet was waiting.
Sophie sat in the back, between Tony and Bruce. She needed them both with her. Hold each of their hands in hers, she kept her eyes closed, doing her breathing exercises.
She had already spoken with the both of them, on what to do if Tia became too out of control. She gave them instructions on what gas to use on her, to knock her out. The clear signs were obviously her eyes and her skin. Once she looked like she was back to normal, then she would be.
She told them not to listen to anything Tia says, as she would say and do anything to get free. Tony had assured her that only him and Bruce would be watching over her. She was worried about how SHIELD would be with her there.
They made it to the airfield, and the three of them got out. She took hold of their hands again, and walked onto the jet. She saw a dark haired woman, in a suit, standing with Romanoff. Sophie relaxed a little, seeing the Widow again.
'Agent Romanoff, good to see you again..'.. She smiled at the redhead.
'You too Dr Connors, Banner, Stark..'.. She nodded her head in greeting at the three of them... 'Dr Connors, this is Agent Maria Hill. She is Director Furys right hand. She will be with us'
'Nice to meet you Agent Hill..'.. Sophie held her hand out to the woman. She had great respect for Romanoff, and now this woman. It filled her with pride, seeing women come into power, and making their own path.
'You too Dr Connors. I've read your file, and it's a shame Romanoff couldn't convince you to join us'... Hill gave her a smile.
Sophie laughed, shaking her head... 'Well, those pretty eyes didn't work on me..'.. She winked at Nat who smirked... 'Please call me Sophie. Thank you, for helping me. Though I have a feeling I'm going to be called in for it in the future'
She took a seat, strapping in with Tony and Bruce following suit... 'No, nope. Sophie stays out of it. She doesn't want anything to do with SHIELD, and it stays that way. She works for me, not you'... Tony tells Hill, staring her down.
'Down Tony, play nice. Honestly, I don't think I have much of a choice. They could keep me locked up, right?'... She looks at Hill, and sees the give away tells... 'Yeah, they'll keep me locked up. I'm really good at reading people'... She smiles at Hill. She sees that the Agent was impressed with her.
'So, I'm guessing Furys words will be..'.. She tilts her head at Agent Hill... 'Join the Avengers, work with SHIELD when told to, not when asked, if I don't, I'll remain locked up for the foreseeable future. If I play ball, then I get some of my freedom back, but with conditions. Sound about right?'
She saw Romanoff snigger behind Hill, a clear giveaway that she was right... 'Told you she was good'... Romanoff nudged Hill with her shoulder.
'So, did that pass your test?'... She raised an eyebrow at the woman.
'Wh-what test?'... She felt Bruce tense next to her. She turned her head, smiling at him.
'Oh to see if I'm actually as good as they've found. They've done a deep dive of my past, right down to what toothpaste I use. They wanted to see if Im as good as I look on paper'... She gave his hand a squeeze while Tony scoffed the other side of her.
'This is never to be repeated, and I'm only saying this once... She's a fucking genius. Even more than me and Banner combined. Hell, more than every scientist in the world. You have no idea, so yeah, she's good'... Tony was pissed. He didn't want them cornering her. He knew how much she hated people trying to control her life and tell her what to do.
'Tony, Tony, look at me..'.. He looked at her, seeing her smiling... 'Hey, it's ok. Don't have to trust them, but trust me..'.. He saw the gleam in her eyes... 'They'll find out just how good I am. Nothing to worry about'
He kept his face neutral and sighed, playing along. The fact that she was being calm and polite, told him she had some tricks up her sleeves. He felt her squeeze his hand in reassurance. Sitting back, he glared at Hill... 'Anything happens to her, because of you lot, you'll have me to deal with'
'And me..'.. Heads turned to Bruce... 'Not hulk, me. I can tear you apart, without even turning green'
'I am so turned on right now..'.. He turned his head to Sophie, hearing what she said. They all did. He couldn't help but blush, seeing that look in her eyes.
'Please, no. Don't-don't do that. I'm right here'... The two of them chuckled at Tony's disgust.
'Romanoff..'.. Sophie called out to her. Nat turned, smiling at her... 'Thank you..'.. Sophie saw her frown in question... 'For bringing Bruce in..'.. She smiled at him... 'He keeps me grounded, and calm. He's my safe place'... She looked back at Romanoff, hoping the woman understood her meaning.
Nat looked between the three of them, sitting together. She got what Sophie meant. If anything were to happen, Banner was the only one to calm her down. She saw Stark look around, his free hand twitching. He was definitely upto something, and she would find out. It wasn't the first time he hacked into SHIELD, probably wouldn't be the last time either.
She tapped Hill on the shoulder, directing her to the front of the jet to talk. She was loyal to Fury, but she wondered if he would do as Sophie said, or keep her locked up. Either way, didn't really sound fair. If Sophie was as good as everyone said she was, that woman probably had a game plan in motion.
She made a note to speak to Fury privately. Sophie was a badass sniper and fighter, she would make a great addition to the team, plus she wouldn't be the only female. All that testosterone was enough to give her a headache.
Both her and Hill talked quietly, sneaking glances back at the three sitting down. They came up with a fair solution, to present to Fury. The last thing any of them needed, was an unknown being called Tia, wreaking havoc and destruction, because they tried to control her.
