The ride back was quiet but therapeutic. Light began to fill the sky as morning had come. The buildings in the distance woke up and began to go about their lives, as Y/N quickly zipped down the old stretch of road. After a decent drive from the abandoned town of Bleedin' Shards, he finally arrived back at the ranch house. He pulled up in Sallie's truck, which surprisingly had taken no damage from the nights' activities. He pulled into the spot the imp had parked it last, and got out. He took the keys and stuffed them in his pocket. As he walked onto the porch and opened the door, the aroma of sausage and fresh pancakes hit his face with a powerful force.

He entered the house and closed the door, and began to walk towards the appetizing smell. He found himself at the entrance of the kitchen, with Charlie, Millie, Moxxie, and Lin happily making various aspects of the upcoming breakfast. The window in the kitchen was cracked open, and Y/N was able to see Sallie and Joe grilling sausage and other meats on the side patio. Charlie noticed her husband as she finished prepping the biscuits for the oven.

"Oh there you are!" She said happily, putting the tray aside. She walked over to Y/N and gave him a peck on the cheek before continuing to help out with the cooking. "Everything turn out okay?" She asked, noticing the dried blood and darker fluids stained on his clothes.

"Sort of. We can talk about it after breakfast," Y/N said.

"You sure you're alright hun. What the hell did you even do?" Lin asked, noticing the remnants of carnage on Y/N's outfit. Millie and Moxxie noticed it, but kept their mouths shut to avoid spilling the beans.

"Yeah I'm fine. I was going out to get something and got attacked. But I was able to handle them," he said comfortably. To a degree, he wasn't lying. He was just oversimplifying the past few hours.

"Okay, well Joe and Sallie might need help bringing in the protein," Lin said, a little unconvinced, but deciding to let it go. She looked at her husband and daughter, who were getting ready to bring everything in. Y/N nodded and headed out the side door, and went to the grill.

As Y/N approached, Sallie noticed him first.

"You didn't ding up my girl, did you?" She asked, wondering if the state of her steed was the same as she left it with him. Y/N reached into his pocket and tossed her the keys. She caught it and slipped it into her back jeans pocket.

"Like she wasn't even driven," he said with a smile. Sallie nodded and Joe turned around with a tray of piping hot meats.

"Would you mind?" He asked, trying to be nicer to the couple that were staying here temporarily, holding out the tray. Y/N grabbed the edges and brought it to the side door. Moxxie opened it for him.

"Thanks," he said, entering and quickly placing the tray on the cast iron stove. As he turned to go back outside to continue helping, Moxxie stopped him.

"Did you go, you know?" Moxxie asked, curious.

"Yes. But don't worry, everything's fine," Y/N said, with a soft smile and patting Moxxie on the shoulder.

"I understand that Y/N, but you weren't followed or anything, right?" He asked, wanting the best for his in-laws.

"Trust me, there was no one to follow me," Y/N said, a grim grin forming on his face before heading outside. Every now and then, his corrupted self decided to deep out, but during those little aspects he could control it. It was more severe where he's just a passenger. Moxxie sighed in relief, while also being a tiny bit disturbed by Y/N's satisfaction at the destruction he caused. The imp decided to not push for any more, as he knew this was an issue that Y/N and Charlie were going to deal with themselves, and didn't want to rope in more people that didn't need to be involved.
