Charlotte had woken up early to continue her studies on Nalutsa, mountain banshees that were the focus at the lab. Pandora mornings were always hot, so she had stripped down to a bra and short shorts. She sat, leaning against the head of her bed. She had a tablet propped up on her stomach, reading the manuscript Norm had assigned her about the Nalutsas blood type. She was low-key getting into it.
Charlotte heard the door hiss, Spider was standing in the doorway.
"Omg Spider get out I'm half naked!"
He quickly shut the door, she could hear him laughing from the hallway. Charlotte pulled on a shirt, swearing to herself while her face grew hot and red.
"Descent?" Spider asked. She said yes and he entered again, his face also red.
"I'm sorry, I just-" She was visibly mortified, covering face and avoiding any eye contact.
"No, its my bad I should have knocked," Spider looks even more embarrassed than Charlotte.
She cleared her throat, finally looking up, meeting his blue eyes.
"So, uh what did you need?"
"Oh I was gonna ask if you wanted to explore with Lo'ak and Kiri"
"Oh, sure. Lemme get ready."
SpidersPOV
Lo'ak, Kiri and Spider had decided to go exploring early in the morning, and Spider had decided to invite Charlotte. He made a steadily made his way through the lab, saying good morning to a groggy Norm and Trudy. He stopped at Charlottes door, hesitating. He didn't hear anything, so he figured she was still asleep. Nah, she must be up, He thought. The door hissed and Spiders eyes trailed to a messy looking Charlotte. In a bra.
"Omg Spider get out I'm half naked!"
He quickly shut the door and laughed. He could feel red crawling up his cheeks. He couldn't deny, she looked amazing under any circumstance. Spider could hear Charlotte muttering curses under her breath. He laughed again and called out "Decent?" She called out a "Yeah" and I opened the door again.
Pandora forests 𑁍
We started off our hike, starting in a familiar area. We moved steadily through the forest, all of us are were all energetic and were excited to find a new area to explore. Charlotte knew these trees like she knew the color of her eyes. She felt so free, flying through the forests and jumping over rivers. Charlotte was too busy stepping over logs and rocks to notice Spider watching her. Instead, Lo'ak saw. "Hey spider, quit staring at Char and- " Lo'ak tripped and fell head over heels into a wide ditch, rolling to a patch of soft moss that was covered up by overhanging trees.
"Oh shit!" Charlotte and Kiri yelped at the same time, running to where Lo'ak had fallen. Spider followed us, staying silent. Kiri was by Lo'aks side and was helping him up, while Charlotte looked around this strange new cove.
There was a small pond surrounded by flowers. A old rusty trailer sat next to the pond, the roof decaying. The windows were all smashed and it looked to be abandoned for at least 10 years. Near the trailer, there was a mechanical body, covered by vines and grass. Overgrown complacently, Charlotte could barley see the "head" of the robot.
"Guys, look," She pointed to the trailer, they all looked and gasped. Charlotte felt Spider stand slightly behind her, taking in the trailer.
"Should we go in?" She asked, already knowing the answer.
"Is that even a question? Hell yes!"
Spider and Charlotte ran to the trailer, jumping through a broken window. The trailer was a branch off from the lab, Charlotte recognized the equipment. She went straight to the set up and looked for info on who this trailer housed. She could feel eyes watching her exposed back. (Char's wearing a tank top and shorts btw)It was Spider, somehow she knew. She felt her face go red. She turned around slowly to meet his eyes.
He had a look in his eyes, as though he wanted to say something. Spider had a talent of switching moods in a matter of seconds, he had gone from "Hell yes!" to looking like he was about to tell Charlotte something that would change her entire life.
"You okay?" Charlotte asked. Jumping to sit on a nearby counter. Spider stood across from her, still watching me intently.
"Yeah, I just. I'm just thinking." He said.
He took a few cautious steps to me, for a split second, he looked at Charlotte's lips, then back up at his eyes. This action cause insane butterflies in her stomach, her thoughts were a jumble. Was he going to kiss her? What was he planning to say? Should she kiss him?
"So I was thinking-"
"Guys we found something!" Lo'ak called from another room. Spider broke eye contact. Charlotte couldn't help to feel disappointed, she really had wanted to know what he was going to ask. She joined Kiri and Lo'ak in a smaller room, filled with bed shaped casket looking things, I had seen a few from the lab but never really got a good explanation on what they were. Lo'ak was standing over a test file, showing a patient. Jake Sully.
Spiders pov
Spider watched Charlotte's back intently as she searched paper work for any clue on who was living here. He couldn't help but stare, the way her long fluffy hair fell over her back and laid weightlessly over her shoulders was oddly memorizing. She turned around abruptly, seeming to sense his gaze. He looked into her hazel eyes, wanting to say something, but unable to find just the right thing.
"You okay?" She asked softly.
"Yeah, I just. I'm just thinking," shit . Wrong move Spider. He thought, wanting to take back the pointless words immediately.
He took a few slow steps forward, breaking the distance between them.
"So I was thinking-"
