Charlotte woke up to shower noises from Spiders bathroom, she sat up reading the clock, it was about 9:15am. Charlotte hopped out of Spiders bed, the room was warm and needed some fresh air (average 15 y/o boys room). She pulled the window open, taking in the cool summer breeze.
Charlotte thoughts drifted back to last night; falling asleep in Spiders arms was probably one of Charlotte's biggest accomplishments. Last night itself was an accomplishment. She wondered if she could really love Spider in a more - than - friend way. Her cheeks flushed at the thought of her and Spider holding hands and kissing. The only example of a "couple" she had seen was Jake and Neytiri, the way they looked at each other caught Charlottes eye sometimes. Under any circumstance, even if they were screaming at each other over something dumb, Jake looks at Neytiri as though he wanted to fuck her on the spot. ( sorry reader) Charlotte hoped she didn't look at Spider like that, though, she had sometimes thought about what it would be like. It wasn't entirely unrealistic, everyone in the lab knew Spider and Charlotte liked each other. Being the only two young humans on Pandora, it was more than likely they would one day get together.
The bathroom door hissed and Charlottes thoughts were tore from her mind as she turned to face Spider. His knotted hair was dripping with water and he was only wearing a towel. (technically thats more than he usually wears but jus pretend otherwise). Charlotte's face flushed red, she didn't know why she was seeing his so differently from last night, but all she knew is that his exposed chest and abs were gonna be on her mind all day.
Spider looked up and smiled, "morning, how'd you sleep?" He hadn't seen her blushing, thank god.
"I uh fine; how 'bout you?"
"Yeah I slept great."
The room fell silent, the only noise was the birds chirping outside. Charlotte wanted to tell them to be quiet.
"About last night," Spider started to speak, but was interrupted by his door sliding open and a cheerful Lo'ak barging in, followed by Neteyam.
"Dude, put some clothes on," Lo'ak laughed as he sat on Spider's bed.
"Shut up." Spider muttered, sliding back into the bathroom to change.
"Sooo should we go back to that trailer today? I told Neteyam about it by the way."
Charlotte sat next to him on the bed, still dazed by her talk with Spider. "Yeah, I'll bring some supplies this time." Lo'ak nodded. "Yo, whats up with you and Spider? Your face was all red when we came in."
Charlotte laughed, covering her face, " It's called blushing Lo'ak, and nothings going on, he just said something funny."
"Sureeee," Lo'ak looked at her slyly.
Charlotte hit him and looked away, embarrassed.
Lo'aks POV
Lo'ak knew EXACTLY what was up. Charlotte liked Spider, finally. He knew his friend had liked her for like forever and now she was starting to feel the same.
He couldn't help feeling jealous. He had never told anyone, not even Spider about his crush on Charlotte. It would be unfair to take her from him now. There were plenty of Navi girls his age but Charlotte was the only girl he spent enough time with to like. He didn't know how to handle his emotions around her, so he would always end up trying to show off to her and get hurt in the process.
Sitting next to Charlotte on Spiders bed pretended he didn't care at all about her and Spider was harder than claiming his Fkio*.
Spider's POV
Spider pressed his ear against the bathroom door, listening to Lo'ak tease Charlotte. She obviously wasn't playing along, she hadn't said anything after she had denied their conversation before Lo'ak arrived. Spider would have done the same, deny, deny, deny, but he couldn't help but feel a sting. Charlotte had assumed nothing of their conversation.
Spider walked back into the room and stood awkwardly in front of the bed.
"Thank god Spider, I was getting sick of these lovebirds; lets go," Neteyam stood up and headed for the door
Spider froze. Lovebirds? What the fuck?? Had he missed something? Were Charlotte and Lo'ak flirting?
"Bro shut the fuck uppp!" Lo'ak followed, getting a strict "Language!!" from Trudy outside of Spider's room.
Charlotte still sat on the bed, stunned from Neteyams comment. Spider's fists clenched. He had never been so jealous before. His best friend, of all people. Neteyam was probably jus making shit up, but Lo'ak didn't say he was wrong.
"So you like Lo'ak now." Spider said, looking down at Charlotte.
"What? No why would you think that??"
"I don't know, Char. But if what you told me last night was jus a stupid lie to lighten the mood that'd be fucked up." Spider grabbed his mask and stormed out of the room.
"Spider wait!"
He already outside the lab when she caught up to him, grabbing his arm.
"What the fuck Spider? Why would you even think that?"
Spider stayed quiet, not have any explanation for his jealousy outburst.
"I meant what I said." Charlotte hand slid from his arm to his wrist.
Spider looked up, knowing it was the truth. He pulled her into a hug, he didn't know how else to apologize.
"I'm sorry Char, I don't even know what I was thinking-" He burried his head into her shoulder softly, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Its okay Miles I get it, I'm jus too hot for you to handle."
Spider laughed and pulled away. She hadn't called him that in a while.
"OH SHIT your mask!" Spider yelped, pulling Charlotte back into the lab.
"*cough cough* Fuck *cough* I forgot it-"
"dumbie"
